I'm positive and easygoing. I used to live in Tampere, but I moved to Pargas quite recently. I also used to be more outgoing, but nowadays I enjoy a bit quieter and slower paced life on the countryside, where I live together with my spouse in our own house and garden. I love spending time outdoors, gardening etc. Though half the time I have no idea what I'm doing. I trust, that gardening is a learning-process! 😅 I still do enjoy going out in Turku (the closest bigger city) every once in a while. I traveled quite a lot when I was younger. Now I'm a doctor, specialized in general practice. I love my job, but it does make it a bit more difficult to travel as often as I would like. I love to sing and dance, especially cuban salsa, bachata and kizomba. I still try to make it to some dance lessons every now and then. I play the piano and sing in a band. Music is very important part of my life. I also try to learn to play ukulele. 😅

Update August 2025: I will start taking couch requests again in September or October. I like to host surfers! I have hosted a lot of lovely people. Update February 2025: I have recently moved to a nice and spacious house of my own. Guests get a private room. It’s warm and very quiet in the house. Unless you want to listen to my CD’s loud on my great speakers. A couple of times I have had longer breaks in hosting because I have been too busy. Now I want to start doing it again! I often go to excellent public saunas. If you are interested, let’s go together to an extremely nice and authentic sauna either by the sea or by the nearby heart-shaped lake, Littoistenjärvi. The experience includes swimming in the lake or in the sea, which are of course ice-cold in wintertime. Even in summertime many of my guests have said the water is cold, but that’s by their standards, which differ from Finnish standards! In summertime the nearby sauna even offers a pool of very cold water, because many Finns are addicted to dipping to cold water or even staying there for a few minutes! This particular sauna, which is close, is almost like a theme park with a few different saunas and warm pools, also barbecue, and everything just for 11 euros. There is another sauna on the nature-protected island of Ruissalo, where I actually go more often. It’s more peaceful there and the best sauna is there! But probably you won’t notice much difference. These are subtle differences. You can choose which sauna we go to, if we go. I won’t be disappointed if you have other plans than experiencing those saunas with me. I’ll be happy if I can just offer you a place to stay. My house is in the district of Littoinen, 6 km east from Turku center. Unfortunately the relevant bus stops are 1 km away. But I’ll be happy to pick you up from the bus stop. Or, depending on my schedule, perhaps even closer to where you are in Turku. In case I happen to have time for it, I may be able to show you some of this city. I love Turku very much. I also know the best restaurants, those that are affordable. There’s one Michelin star restaurant in Turku, too, but I have always passed it by because I prefer eating 20 good meals in a good restaurant for the price of one menu package there. Of course if you like you can offer me a meal there! That would be a new experience to me. On the other hand, in case you wish to save on food like I do, I can direct you to certain nice supermarkets that have an evening sale each day on selected products at 60 % off price. I have very much tried (but not succeeded) to live in a healthy way, including rawfood, berries, herbs, fermenting, and other stuff like that. I just don't seem to manage to live in a super healthy way like that. I often feel busy since I want to do more things than I'm capable of. But I always enjoy hosting couchsurfers, as you can read from my references. Most of my income comes from driving charter buses and local buses. Most times I do it part-time, and there are weeks that I don’t work much. Besides that I do spiritual healing and bodywork treatments, which I feel is more important. The treatments are very unique and include chanting. I feel I channel the treatments from healers in the spirit world. In case I happen to have time and you are interested I can do such a treatment to you. And I won’t ask money from my guests for the treatments of course. I also have a piece of land in an ecovillage, or an intentional community of more than 50 people, in Livonsaari, 35 km west from Turku. I lived there from 2012 to 2019. I'm doing some voluntary work for the administration of that community, mostly legal matters. I visit there maybe once a month at the most, so it's unlikely that I would have time to take my surfers there. But I can tell you facts about the place in case you are interested in such communities.

I have now been living in Finland (I am French) for 10+ years and I actually managed to learn Finnish.
