I’m fully COVID vaccinated. Hey there! I’m Faisal, an Indonesian traveler who genuinely loves meeting people, sharing stories and experiencing different cultures. For me, travel is not just about visiting places, it’s about the connections we make along the way. I enjoy deep conversations, discovering hidden gems, and trying local food wherever I go. Whether it’s hiking in nature, exploring a new city, or simply having coffee and a good chat, I believe the best memories are made with good company. Let’s connect and create amazing memories together! I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Health (Public Health) in 2016 and currently work as a personal/research assistant for the Vice Dean at the Faculty of Medicine and Health in Jakarta. I love traveling and sports. I'm an easy-going and adaptable person. Feel free to check out my Instagram: @faisalhus

By day, I’m a physician practicing medicine with a focus on mindfulness. I provide door-to-door care for my patients, which allows me to be truly present with them and learn about their lives. This work has taught me the art of being a respectful guest and a keen listener. One of the most transformative chapters of my life was as a graduate student at Brown University in Providence—the liveliest, most chill campus I've ever experienced. There, I bridged my medical background with public health and mindfulness. Beyond the classroom, I’ve traveled extensively across both US coasts, met incredible mentors, and even completed a seven-day silent retreat. I’m admittedly a little shy at first—the "quiet observer" type. However, once we break the ice, my humorous side comes out and I become quite a chatterbox. I travel for authentic local experiences: sharing life stories, discovering hidden hiking trails, and leaning into the daily rhythms of a new city. My Vibe I am high-energy and stay sharp with a daily "dose" of movement. You’ll usually find me in a local park or a quiet corner of the house practicing yoga, calisthenics, or resistance training. I’m also a bit of a language nerd. I truly believe the gateway to any culture starts with two things: learning to say "Hello" and mastering the local "bad words." I love the "Aha!" moment of nailing a difficult pronunciation, and I’m always down to exchange slang or stories over a meal.
Hi hi! 👋🏻 I’m Salsa from Indonesia 🇮🇩 I’m currently based in Jakarta, where I work as a Senior Social Media Strategist for a well-known beauty company in Indonesia. I previously spent four years in Surabaya on a full scholarship studying Psychology, and throughout my university years and professional career, I’ve been fortunate to explore many parts of Indonesia from Java, Banten, Jakarta, Bali, West Sumatra (Padang), Lampung, South Sumatra (Palembang), and West Nusa Tenggara (Lombok). I’m someone who loves moving around. I enjoy discovering new places, learning about different cultures, and meeting people who see the world differently from me. I’m naturally curious, open-minded, independent, and always excited by a good conversation or an unexpected plan. Outside of my full-time career, I also build three passion projects: 👩🏻💻 Social Media Consultant & Agency — @rosecreativehub 🎒 Travel & Mountain Experiences — @thewanderrose 👩🏻🏫 Online English Teacher — @missrosyi So far, I’ve visited 5 countries — 🇲🇾 Malaysia, 🇸🇬 Singapore, 🇹🇭 Thailand, 🇰🇭 Cambodia, and 🇻🇳 Vietnam and I’m looking forward to seeing much more of the world. Through Couchsurfing and my travels, I’ve also had the privilege of becoming friends with people from 39 countries across 6 continents. 🌏 Each connection has introduced me to a different culture, perspective, and way of life. 🌏 Asia 🇲🇾 Malaysia · 🇹🇭 Thailand · 🇰🇭 Cambodia · 🇵🇰 Pakistan · 🇮🇳 India · 🇨🇳 China · 🇦🇫 Afghanistan · 🇸🇬 Singapore · 🇵🇭 Philippines · 🇦🇪 UAE · 🇰🇷 South Korea · 🇯🇵 Japan · 🇹🇼 Taiwan · 🇻🇳 Vietnam · 🇯🇴 Jordan · 🇺🇿 Uzbekistan · 🇰🇼 Kuwait 🌍 Europe 🇳🇱 Netherlands · 🇳🇴 Norway · 🇷🇴 Romania · 🇬🇧 United Kingdom · 🇫🇷 France · 🇪🇸 Spain · 🇮🇹 Italy · 🇸🇪 Sweden · 🇷🇺 Russia 🌎 North America 🇺🇸 United States 🌎 South America 🇧🇷 Brazil · 🇵🇪 Peru 🌍 Africa 🇦🇴 Angola · 🇲🇼 Malawi · 🇲🇦 Morocco · 🇪🇬 Egypt · 🇹🇿 Tanzania 🌏 Oceania 🇦🇺 Australia Outside of work, you’ll probably find me hiking. I’ve climbed 15+ mountains across Java and West Nusa Tenggara, including: ⛰️ Mount Rinjani — 3,726 m 🇮🇩 One of Indonesia’s Seven Summits and one of the country’s most iconic mountains. ⛰️ Mount Slamet — 3,428 m 🇮🇩 The highest mountain in Central Java. ⛰️ Mount Ciremai — 3,078 m 🇮🇩 The highest mountain in West Java. For me, traveling isn’t about collecting destinations. It’s about the people you meet, the perspectives you exchange, and the stories you bring home. If you’d like to know me a little more, feel free to reach out and let’s chat! 💬 WhatsApp: Please DM me 😊 📸 Instagram: @rosyidasalsabila 💼 LinkedIn: Rosyida Salsabila I’m always happy to meet new people, exchange stories, learn about different cultures, and see where a simple conversation might lead. 🌍✨
I’m a slow traveler who enjoys living with locals, not just visiting places. I appreciate calm homes, deep conversations, shared silence, and the small rituals that make a house feel alive—cooking together, tea in the afternoon, or simply existing in the same room comfortably. I’m not into nightlife or big crowds. I’m more of a presence-oriented person—warm, quiet, and grounded. Many friends describe my energy as calming and gentle.
I'm good, easy going, funny, very understanding, open minded, ready to listen, give advice, and best secret keeper in the world. I'm somehow a bit crazy in a fun sense..
Current travel plans: None at the moment. Just working in Jakarta for now. CURRENT MISSION My dream is to visit North Korea, Cuba and other "not so open" countries. Hopefully I get to visit them next year (2026) as I have been postponing visiting them for almost 2 decades. ABOUT ME Unpredictable & a little crazy. A horrible planner who is blessed with great travel experiences. Loves to meet people of different backgrounds and make new friends. PS: I am an old school CS member who has been extremely disappointed by the new CS management who reduced what used to be an amazingly respectful sharing community to nothing but a free accomodation finder and the resulting new members who are mostly ungrateful freeloaders with nothing to offer back to their hosts or to the community as a whole. I got back from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay & Bolivia end of Jan 2016. In Buenos Aires, I was hosted by an old friend: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/ricardo-perkasa Previously, I drove a rental car around Brazil until 4 Sept 2014 with 3 other CS members: Sylvia: https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/sylvialin83/ Nelson: https://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=4LCPAGU Hugo: https://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=3PY59AF PHILOSOPHY Traveling is the only way we can get a real and unfiltered understanding of the world and its people that we otherwise would only know from the biased perspective of the media that is full of propaganda and agenda.
Hi.. Im Izak Karim, I like meet new people and sharing life experiences. I like traveling to learn different cultures and also to find the meaning of life, you know sometimes life is unpredictable 😄 Im friendly and open minded person, you can talk or sharing to me about anything, whether political, social, economic or personal life. Some people said I am a good listener 😅 let's be friends, we only live once and make the most of it 🤝
Updated By JULY 2026 The upgraded app of CSing is very stupid now, since it’s hard to communicate each other and the limitation of sending the message. Just in case if I do not reply your message quickly, most likely no because I won't reply. It's just the app being stupid. So please .. Feel free to reach out to me on my IG too. @irsanchen or add your whatsapp number on your message. Special for those who want to request to stay, please read my home section properly. Btw, thanks y'all for reaching me out and allow me to introduce myself here. I'm one of the CSing members who been active on this platform since the beginning and always love to make new friends or being connected with new people from all over the world. I treat everyone equally the same either local or foreigner or basically as the same human being. I totally understand that even though the color, language, look or even our culture are absolutely different .. But these diversities make it beautiful and memorable between us instead of a problem to distance. Be respectful and caring for people always be my point of life, and I hope everyone do the same especially by accepting the differences between us. FYI : Please NOTE, I no longer to live in Jakarta. I currently live in Tangerang city due to my current job. It's pretty much like the same city, ±20 mins from the airport. It's about ± 15 - 60 mins to Jakarta (depends on whice part of Jakarta since the city is huge). "Please direct read my home section to read more updated info about my availability if you guys have any plan to request to stay with me". My favourite activities are so random. I like walking, sharing or talking about the life experience and culture exchange with new people. I love visiting the nature often or just hangout with friends in the city. I ride motorbike very much but sometimes also use public transport in Jakarta since it is easy, cheaper and pretty good tho. When I host people, I may take them around with these all styles too. :) I cook at home when I feel less busy especially during the weekend. I've been always interested of sharing everything related to business ideas, nature and new culture. I work out at the gym rarely (that's why I'm skinny) 😁 Fun fact, I'm also certified for a Traditional Javanese Massage therapist (Javanese full body massage) due to my interest since I was teenager. I believe that as an Indonesian, traditional massage is one of the traditions that we need to keep and be proud about especially for those who able to do it. When I host people, I don't usually offer a massage at all because I won't let people misunderstood wrongly due to the culture difference / mindset. However, if you're interested to get this experience and if the time is matched .. I'm more than welcome to do it since it's always good to practice frequently to keep the skill good. If I'm too exhausted, I can make a call to my therapist who usually come to my place monthly✌🏻 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm originally from North Sumatra where a lot of people come there especially to Medan city and continue their trip to other destinations such as "Bukitlawang" (Jungle Trek and Wild Orangutans), "Lake Toba" (Amazing volcano lake & stunning view) or Tangkahan (Jungle area which often called as the hidden paradise of north sumatra), etc. I went to those places above a lot of time either alone or with friends (included CSers). Until now, I still help CouchSurfing friends often to guide them exploring this my hometown remotely with several good tips. So if you need any information about Medan city around, feel free to text me. I know how to get Lake toba cheapest, jungle trek to bukitlawang, public transport around, and other things else. You can read the references by many Couchsurfers on my profile that I've met or I hosted to know more about myself. And if you want to be connected to me through social media, I'm also on Instagram @irsanchen Well that's all I guess and hopefully to see you. Have wonderful experience together ! Cheers 🍻
I am reflective, and driven to grow — emotional yet self-aware, realistic but still hopeful. I love talking and sharing
