Hi! I’m Yaşar, born and raised in Antalya, and now living in the beautiful coastal town of Kaş. After studying at university in Istanbul, I spent a long time living in the UK. I later worked in banking before returning to Kaş and becoming part of a three-generation family hospitality business. I’m now involved in a small family-run hospitality business in Kaş, located in a historic stone house that has been in my family for around a century. It’s a place with a lot of family history and memories, and I love being able to continue that story in my own way. Living abroad for a long time made me appreciate meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures. I’ve travelled to places such as the Czech Republic and Greece, and I’m hoping to explore much more of the world in the years ahead. I joined Couchsurfing because I’d like to meet people from different countries, exchange stories and experiences, and discover new cultures. I also hope that the connections I make here will continue when I travel and visit other countries. I have a private room available in my home for up to two people. The kitchen, shower and bathroom are shared. If you stay with me, I’d be happy to help you experience Kaş like a local. I can recommend great places to swim, eat, have a drink, explore and enjoy the town, as well as some quieter spots that you might not find in a typical travel guide. Hi, I’m Gencay, based in Kas / İzmir. I enjoy traveling, staying active, spending time by the sea, discovering local food, and having meaningful conversations with people from different cultures. For me, the best way to experience a place is through the people who live there—not just through tourist attractions. I’m easygoing, respectful, tidy, and always curious to learn something new. As someone who prefers to travel and do outdoor sports every chance I get, couchsurfing has become a habit for me. I worked as an archaeologist in few countries for about 7 years, but now I work in a hotel in Kaş. Even though I am no longer free after my university years, meeting travelers and spending time is still a one of the favorite activity for me. You can text to me in Kas or wherever I am. We can explore the surroundings and go on hikings etc. together. I'm also always down to drinking beer and checking different bars.
