Hello, fellow travelers and global adventurers! I'm Naji Mahfood, and I hail from the vibrant and culturally rich town of Malappuram in Kerala, India. I'm a firm believer in the power of global citizenship and social entrepreneurship to create positive change in the world. For over six years, I've been on an incredible journey as a learning designer and co-founder of several initiatives that aim to ignite young minds and inspire transformation. These include Ignite India, Khoj, and Take a Pause, each with a unique focus on nurturing young changemakers, driving social and economic development in rural areas, and promoting wellness and mindfulness. My commitment to reshaping education and fostering regenerative livelihoods has led me to join the Ecoversities Alliance and Indian Multiversities Alliance, where we are reimagining education and embracing the magic of learning beyond the ordinary. My passion for exploration took me on an adventure across 28 states of India, and 6 other nations so far. These incredible journeys allowed me to collect stories of resilience, innovation, and the incredible power of human connection. One of my recent adventure was the International Conference on GCED in Seoul, South Korea, and the Ecoversities Asia Gathering in Vietnam, where I was able to expand my horizons and find inspiration for new avenues of change. I'm a strong advocate for social justice and firmly believe in the symphony of possibilities that we can create together to paint a brighter and more inclusive tomorrow. About Me Hi! I'm Sooraj, a chef, tourism entrepreneur, and local host from the beautiful backwater village of Munroe Island (Mundro Island), Kerala, India. Cooking is my passion. I love preparing authentic Kerala cuisine, especially fresh seafood and traditional village recipes using local ingredients. Through food, I enjoy sharing the culture and stories of my island with people from around the world. I run tourism experiences that include backwater boating, village walks, and local food experiences. I enjoy meeting travellers, exchanging cultures, and helping visitors discover the real Kerala beyond the usual tourist spots. When I'm free, I love talking about travel, food, nature, entrepreneurship, and different cultures. Kollam ( Quilon) is one of those towns you might know only if you have been there . I really wanted to see the world and meet people different from me, so I left for college to another state of India where I studied Dentistry and then moved to the UK for my post graduation, at University of Birmingham. I love people and the world 🌎; there's so much to see, learn and experience. I play volleyball🏐and I workout/run🏃‍♂️. I'm a huge cinephile and absolutely *love* films📺 and music 🎶and I'm learning guitar at the moment🪕. I'm always down to try new things (food/activities/anything!), I live for good stories, and I can get lost for hours in a deep conversation, once I get comfortable with the person sitting next to me (or stargazing, or both).
