Hello everyone! 🌍 In March 2025, I set off on the adventure of a lifetime: a journey to hitchhike around the globe — whether by car or boat, always heading west. My trip started in Switzerland and, if all goes to plan, will eventually end back in Switzerland after circling the globe. Before taking off, I worked in a nursing home, a school, a youth center, and in nature conservation. While I’m a big fan of crazy adventures and spontaneous decisions, I also try to maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay fit along the way. I aim to go to bed early, exercise in the mornings, and keep an eye on my nutrition. Every ride, every stop, and every host is a new chapter in this global adventure. Let’s connect!
Unfortunately, all the glory from my previous profile was deleted due to the new website. However, parts of the glory are still available (so you understand where all those pictures from my profile pictures used to fit in my profile text) if you click this gorgeous link: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/3348469/profile/legacy CURRENT MISSION Internationally Renowned Expert at life-de-suckification ABOUT ME If you're as impatient about reading profiles as I am, have a look at the coming paragraph, and then perhaps catch a glimpse of the bit about my taste in music and movies while skipping right to the couch information section located under "My Home", which is really the decisive bit. As for the ambitious task of summarizing myself: each time I try to rephrase this, a very special kind of writer's block kicks in. Since my opinion of myself is a colorful cocktail of confidence, modesty, arrogance and self-loathing that translates into words very peculiarly, I find it really quite hard to describe, let alone advertise myself. You're welcome to try and figure me out from scratch instead. I've been told I'm a really nice guy, always willing to meet new people, to find out new things. I'm honest (sometimes painfully honest) and friendly, every time trying to learn something new from other people, trying to become a better person. I love to cook for others - Google is my best friend at finding new recipes - read books, learn something new, listen to music, enjoy the beautiful life, or just sit and idle around. I'm a colorful mushroom with legs, an Amanita Muscaria that goes through the world step by step. Sometimes I turn into a gray shy mushroom when I don't know people very well, but after a while get cheerful and very talkative. I have part-time Peter Pan syndrome! Some days I'm abnormally normal, boring and serious, on other days I'm crazy, childish and extremely spoiled! I study and work a lot. Maybe even too much sometimes. But I like it, and I`m very glad when someone comes suddenly and interrupts me from my routine . I spend roughly 30% of my time at work, 60% of my time at the outside, 20% of my time in the train to and from work, 8% of my time sleeping, 110% of my time with my girl, and 35% of my time partying! ...and I'm REALLY GREAT AT MATH! xD If you would ask my friends about me, they would probably call me a pathological dreamer and tragically optimistic. They'd tell you I'm terribly in love with life (and my girlfriend ). Then they'd tell you how I don't find anything wrong with any of these points. I find happiness in the small things in life - sunny Sundays in the city, fresh strawberries and a good conversation. They would mention how easy-going I am, while still staying level-headed. Granted, I know I have good qualities, but I don't regard my good qualities as something extraordinarily rare. Nor are my bad qualities extraordinarily dire. In fact, I consider myself average in most respects, and even years ago, I knew I was destined for neither fame nor obscurity. "My skin is kind of sort of brownish Pinkish yellowish white. My eyes are greyish blueish green, But I'm told they look orange in the night. My hair is reddish blondish brown, But it's silver when it's wet. And all the colors I am inside Have not been invented yet." (Colors - Shel Silverstein) I appreciate the little things. I like things to be simple even though the world is complex - it doesn't really have to be that way unless you make it. Ultimately, you are the one in control and your happiness is dependent on your attitudes and actions. Sure, there are always outside factors that may hold you back, but a true hard-worker will persevere and stick to those goals. Just try and find out the rest... i'm easy to get along with and dont bite (unless you ask me to ) I travel like Tony Wheeler! You are someone who others will come to rely on for their best travel advice and information. With any luck at all, you'll eventually get bought out by the BBC, so you can retire, and then keep traveling anyway. What type of traveler are you?Take BootsnAll's Travel Quiz to find out. http://www.bootsnall.com/quiz/traveler/ I am like Totoro! You have some sweet, child-like qualities. To you, the glass is always half full. Nature is your friend and you believe in the kindness of strangers. The world needs more people like you. Which Miyazaki Character Are You?Take Miyazaki Quiz to find out. http://www.buzzfeed.com/norbertobriceno/which-miyazaki-character-are-you I should stop writing now. I can't really tell you much about me in a profile. I could spend all day saying how nice and awesome I am, but I rather say that I'm nasty, evil, trash talker, backstabber, annoying, and all those nice things... so get to know me at your own risk! If after all my written ramblings you still decide to meet, then my gentleman/lady you're brave and you deserve my eternal admiration! PHILOSOPHY Everything will be FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE. Life isn't worth living if you don't experience the adventures each day has to offer, and each day is an opportunity to change the course of our future. We only have one life to live, so the only freedom we have is to live it as greatly as we endeavor to dream. "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." "It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you aren't" "There are always two choices. Two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy." "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." Heaven: Where the chefs are French, the police British, the car makers German, and the lovers Italian, all organized by the Swiss. Hell: Where the chefs are British, the police German, the car makers French, the lovers Swiss, all organized by the Italians. "People spend so much time worrying about how much time they have left that they forget to live with the time they have"... just going day by day to see what life brings as long as it's not zombie apocalypse. A while ago I stumbled upon an interesting website listing the regrets of the dying and I want to make sure, when its going to be my time to go, that I wont have any of those.
CURRENT MISSION Explore the world, meeting people, visting countries I haven't seen yet ABOUT ME Since I was a child I was fascinated by the world. First in writing letters to penpals all over the world, collection stamps from every corner I could imagine and as soon as I got older I used my free time to earn money for travelling or travelled. Most of my journeys happen before the time of the Internet and mobile phone and also couchsurfing didn't exist. There were weeks I didn't know, what happens in the rest of the world, but already then all over the world there were nice people hosting you and showed you around. All together I travelled for more than 7 years and visited more than 70 countries. I still like to travell a lot. PHILOSOPHY Live an let others live. Enjoy the time. Don't worry too much about things you can't change.
I am not hosting at the moment. Please do not send me couch requests as they will be denied due to my current lack of availability to host. I enjoy making people appreciate the present and live in the moment, and currently approach that by providing great food. (Hopefully launching soon!) My life story's quite complex, having lived in 8 countries across 4 continents, moving many times not due to my own choosing, so that's a story probably best told in person. But I've told my story many times, and I'd much prefer hearing the stories of others, at least first. I joined CS in 2010 as it was recommended to me as a community to meet people when I went to study in Vienna for a few months as a study abroad program while based in Seattle and doing a Bachelor's degree there. I really loved the CS community there back then and went on to host a few people as well as shown people around. I lived in a shared house at the time when I lived in Seattle, so I didn't really get to host much. I continued being active in the CS community in London once I moved there, also for a study abroad, albeit a bit longer. A majority of the events were centered around bars and pubs, and being under 21, I wasn't able to do much of that in the US, so it was nice to be able to return to that in the UK having done that in Vienna.

I'm Greek, currently living in Switzerland(and hosting), and at a point in my life where I'm trying to explore a bit more of the world and meet interesting people along the way. I enjoy pretty much anything that involves discovering a new place through the people who actually live there — walking around without a strict plan, finding a good local food spot, having a beer or coffee and ending up talking for three hours about completely unexpected things. I have a strong interest in nature, landscapes and plants. In my free time I have a somewhat less predictable hobby: miniature painting. So I can happily spend a day hiking and then several hours painting a tiny fictional warrior. 😄 I'm not particularly interested in ticking off tourist attractions just for the sake of it. I'd much rather see how people actually live, hear their stories, share some food, and hopefully make a few genuine connections. I'm easy-going, respectful of other people's space, and always happy to return the hospitality. And if you're the kind of person who enjoys a good conversation, a spontaneous adventure or arguing about which country has the best food, we'll probably get along(unless you disagree with me😂😂😂😂).
Loving my life in Zurich I check Instagram more frequently: https://www.instagram.com/fattaholmanan
** Update** Hey lovely people. I just moved into a teeny-tiny 1-room-flat that I also work from and doesn't fit a couch anymore, so I am no longer able to host anyone in Zurich sadly. But if I have time to meet for a coffee or adventure, I'd be happy to do that. ** Hi everyone I'm Andrea (friends call me Andi) from Switzerland. I currently work as a project manager for Zurich Tourism. Which means I'm able to give you lots of good info if you come to visit my beautiful town. ;) Besides that I now freelance as an embodiment coach, where as for the past few years I worked mainly as a videographer and social media content creator. In my free time I organize a popular local concert series with some friends and also go to as many concerts and exhibitions as I can. Nothing better than live music! I love to travel, explore foreign cultures and meet interesting people. If you are coming to Zurich, feel free to reach out to me. If I have time we can meet for a coffee, I can show you around or whatever else we come up with. :) --- PS: While I do appreciate the many messages and I am looking to connect with nice people of any gender, please be mindful that this is not a dating platform and I am not here looking for dates. Thank you for understanding. :)

I love meeting people and listening to their stories. I love to be active: I'm very into hiking, biking, running and exploring cities by walking for hours across various streets and neighborhoods. Sometimes, I manage to slow down, grab a book and drink a chai in a lovely cafe. Sometimes, I have time there for sketching or reading too. Woah, and I am a biiiig big podcast-fan. I'm a huge optimist, laugh a lot and smile nearly constantly. Not much disturbs my happyness. Really glad for that. Just grace! *** REGARDING OFFERING A COUCH *** I currently have a complicated situation with my roommates and therefore cannot accommodate anyone in our small apartment. I'm so sorry and sincerely hope that circumstances will change soon.
Since in 2010 I've been taking an ecopreneurial approach to support pioneering initiatives and social enterprises for more sustainability, in the fields of agriculture, clothing and information society. Besides I try my best to be a reliable friend.
