HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING just joined, so haven't participated too much yet... COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've informally couchsurfed at many friends' places throughout the years, and my girlfriend and I have hosted many friends at our own apartment in Philly. When I was in college, I lived in a cooperative house with 60 other people, and it seemed like there was always some friend of someone visiting and sleeping on one of the couches in the house. I think the only reason I haven't signed up with couchsurfing earlier is that I almost never travel somewhere where I don't know anyone. In fact, the point of almost all of my travel has been to visit friends and relatives, so I usually stay with them!
