I was in Antarctica saw penguins and Leopard seals. I was deep in the Amazon jungle at a gold mine. Sailed through the Northwest Passage and lived through two hurricanes at sea.

I mentor my cooking and serving staff to be good at their jobs, and to be cool people. I know how to cook because I am a professional. I write because I like a good story.

I appreciate good music, good food, good scotch, good wine, good beer, good restaurants. I travel any chance I can. I used to ride motorcycles, had two and tried to get out every year for at least one good long ride. Now I have a roadster and enjoy going for long rides with the top down, feeling G-force in the twisties! I admire good design, and believe in the value of a good architect over my own ability to design.
