HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I hosted a lot while living in Baltimore, and I really enjoy it. I've surfed a few times as well. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I love hosting, giving people a comfortable place to stay and a local's view. It's a fantastic way to travel too but I've actually only surfed a few times - usually end up doing the hostel thing.

Music: John Coltrane, Cardiacs, Magma, Captain Beefheart, Bjork. Books: Neal Stephenson, Kurt Vonnegut, David Foster Wallace. Movies: Documentaries, dramas, pretty much anything.

I've traveled a bit (not enough) and I spent 5 great years in the U.S. Coast Guard, which was an awesome experience.
