HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Our house is always open to couchsurfers...but it's unfortunately in the suburbs. It's great for people who don't mind hoping on the metro to get somewhere, but you aren't really visiting "DC" if you are at our place. We have done a decent amount of surfing over the last couple of years, and absolutely love it. We wouldn't have been able to (or, truthfully, even wanted to) do our 'year of travel' without CS. It's really opened up the world for us and made it so we never feel alone or homesick. We have made friends all over the world and have Couchsurfing to thank for that. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE We joined in the hopes of meeting interesting people in Iceland, who could show us around or give us a place to stay. We ended up falling in love with the idea and have a hard time going back to hotels when couchsurfing isn't an option. Couchsurfing has really renewed our passion for travel and made it a far more enjoyable experience. We don't get a chance to host much, since we're in the suburbs, but we are always excited to have the opportunity to give back!
