HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Couch or not: I'd like to show you around, offer a sightseeing tour, make a trip with you, go to a museum, show you some nice places where you can get a drink or two, or maybe we can cook something together... COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I started with hospitalityclub in 2006 (kind of the myspace of couchsurfing). I first "hospitalityclubed" during my trip to Brazil and it was great. All those openminded and helpful people who opened their homes and hearts. So I wanted to give some of it back and I hosted some people myself. And I love to offer city tours to people, show them around, tell them about history and places, but also go for a drink with them. I like to be a host, but keep in mind, that I am not a free hostel. That is not the spirit of couchsurfing. This means, if you want just a free place to crash, I am the wrong address. Just act like you would act if you visited a friend and not a hotel. (I only had one or two guests who thought so – they expected to be served and pampered without giving anything back like a nice conversation... – but better to mention it...). But all in all I am a big fan of Couchsurfing, because I do not like just to go somewhere without getting to know at least some bits of the "real" life there. And I also like to offer this to people who visit my city. When I am travelling I just love to talk to people living there. I want to see places I would not see as a normal tourist. I want to know people, daily life, the place and nice locations. Thank you in advance for showing me around and thank you to all the great people who have done that before. And of course to my guests who were interested in what I had to show and tell. :-)
