HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Daughter had been couch surfing for 2 years in Europe and encouraged me to join her. When I did join her I was immediately 'hooked' into this traveling lifestyle. A month later, when she returned to America, I continued on my own. 12 countries later, I have been a single traveler for 3 years now and will soon be returning home to host other CSers to share my travel stories and show them my little slice of Texas. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE As a CouchSurfer [along with HelpExchange, house sitting, and WWOOFing] these past 3 years I have been: an English teacher for Tibetan monks in the Himalayas, a nanny in the Netherlands, a kitchen helper in Belgium, a sign painter in France, a receptionist, a dog-walker...and a myriad other positions. I've CouchSurfed in and between countries, learning about people, customs, interesting information and facts from wonderful welcoming hosts that I could never have known any other way. Sharing information, facts and philosophies about my own country with them as well.

Impossible to limit it to ONE! Caring for the babies in an orphanage in Romania; living in a yurt while helping build a cob house; swimming with dolphins in Mexico; traveling with the understanding that this beautiful planet is a living organism that deserves our love and respect.
