It is a different and easy way to visit a place. It is also the best way to engage with local and not just tourists. It is the best way to meet people from a place when one is not from there. For me a great opportunity to meet a plethora of types of people and learn from them. I used to host in my previous place in the UK and had great experiences as a host. I usually couchsurf over friends but did it a couple of times in couchsurfing.
