I started using Couchsurfing in 2011 when I was studying abroad in Europe and had some amazing and also some odd experiences! I decided to start a new account for a new trip. Every chance I get to travel, I do. An itch to see the world outside of Pennsylvania where I grew up began when I was in high school and hasn't subsided yet. I think I've made most of my major life decisions based on the flexibility it might give me to travel. I like long, slow journeys because it saves money, enhances my appreciation for random places I find along my route and is (slightly) better for the environment. I enjoy volunteering when I travel because I learn new skills, meet incredible people and get to help a little as I go. I write for a living, mostly copywriting, but I love literature and creative writing! I am fluent in Spanish and know um pouco Portugues. If you speak slowly, I can even understand a little French. I'm pretty laid back and can get along with just about anyone (within reason). I like being active and think running and biking are great ways to explore new places. Yoga...whatever yoga means to you...the asana practice, is something else I feel good doing :)

Почему я на Couchsurfing
I'm backpacking from Portugal to the Philippines and would like to connect with locals and/or fellow travelers along the way. When I return and have my own spaces (wherever that is...maybe PA? maybe somewhere else?) I'd like to finally return the favor.
Одно удивительное, что я сделал
Dressing up and dancing for carnival in Jauja, Peru (long story) Running a marathon with a bum knee (shorter story but still sort of long) Being reunited with a friend by a Peruvian onion truck driver and a lady selling cigarettes (longer story still) Being auntie Didi to my nieces!
Учить, учиться, делиться
English or some Spanish? Yoga? Bake chocolate chip cookies? Whatever I can teach I am happy to share!
Что я могу предложить хостам
Meals: I have been vegetarian for about 6 or 7 years but am reintroducing fish, poultry and meat into my diet for the sake of this trip...basically, if someone is going to offer me a meal, I don't want to have to turn it down because it will make me sick. That said, I do like cooking and baking and am happy to share meals :) Yoga/stretches: low back pain? kink in your neck? always wanted to touch your toes but haven't made it? I can offer some advice! I'm no professional, but I have a little experience under my belt. Drinks: I am happy to share a beverage...caffeinated, carbonated, fermented, frozen, spirited...whatever. Dance: we can go dancing? Travel advice: I worked at a travel consulting agency in Peru and can give you lots of advice. I lived in NYC for a few years and can make recommendations there, too, as well as Philadelphia, PA. Anywhere I've visited, I can offer my best advice based on my experience!
