I'm an Australian living in Austria (no kangaroos), and I travel in my days/weeks off. Jan-May 2017 is my big Euro-trip, hence why I have probably contacted you. Please read below! I'm a fairly laid-back person, I like to sit around and chat but am also up for a drink (or seven) but will also respect your privacy and time. I come from a large Irishy-Scottishy-Englishy-Portuguesey family so there's a lot of us and sometimes I forget how many siblings I have. Please don't make me do accents, I'm terrible at them. I can barely do an Australian one in jest, and I'm from Australia. I'm big on history, so would love it if you could teach me a little bit about the city you live in. You know your history, Professor? Even better, please take me to the important sites/sights and let's learn! I'm also into urbex (urban exploring) so if you love it too, please please let's take a look around your area.

Почему я на Couchsurfing
Let's face it, we all get tired of hostels where people leave their stuff everywhere and everyone's using the power points and sometimes you just want to see a clean toilet. 50% of why I'm on Couchsurfing. The other 50% is meeting people; locals who can show me around, we can talk about life together, and we can become best friends for ever and ever (or never, your choice). I'm doing quite a long trip backpacking, before returning home to Australia for a few months. Starting in mid-January 2017, I won't return finish until early May, and I want to take my time to explore and immerse myself in different cities/countries/cultures.
Музыка, кино и книги
*Ugh wanker alert*: I listen to alternative, psychedelic rock and have this weird thing for Falco since I moved to Austria. I read non-fiction books over novels, with varied interests (natural sciences, politics, history, culture, economics, current affairs). I don't have a favourite movie, just ones that I watch for the first time, then constantly watch for a week until I get bored. Current one: Mascots by Christopher Guest. 3 times this week already.
Одно удивительное, что я сделал
Well, I'm an idiot and I moved to Europe with no knowledge of German, no return ticket, no guarantee of a job and nothing to wear in the snow. Cue a year later, and I'm now mildly ok to not that bad in German, have a ticket back to Australia (via lots of other countries), a job, and snow gear, plus I'm happier and healthier than before. It gave me a new outlook on life and also made me realise how batshit crazy everyone is in Australia and how tough we damn are. Moving to Austria =This was the most amazing thing I've done.
Учить, учиться, делиться
I'll cook dinner if you teach me everything you know about your city, deal? Please also see below!
Что я могу предложить хостам
I can share with you my newfound love of Austria, my historical and cultural knowledge of Australia. I can tell you about that time I saw someone get bitten by a shark, or the time I drove a PT Cruiser through the bushland. Or when I got drunk and started 'Irish dancing' (a poor excuse for Irish dancing, I shamed the people of Ireland that day) on my friend's roof and didn't break a single bone but he broke his leg. There's also the time I ate too much expensive cheese at this fancy dinner at a Schloss and vomited so much into a sink that I blocked it. I'll make you dinner, and try not to eat too much cheese or do a jig on your roof.
