Hi i'm Helen and i live in Erfurt where i'm studying architecture. Since I was little my parents took me and my sister on trips to get to know the world a little better. I learned that, no matter how far away, each place has its own remarkable features - and sometimes the places closest to home can hold the biggest surprises. Being brought up bilingual (english and german) my understanding of the word "home" has always been difficult, as I feel, that I have two homes and two families in different countries. So, after having lived in germany all my life, I decided to move to my aunt in England- when I was 15 years old. For a year I stayed with them and got to know my family, my homeland and myself a little better. It also kindled my love to travel and meet new people. So after returning to Germany and finishing school, I took a bigger leap and travelled all the way to West africa, to beautiful little country called Togo. I spent my time there volunteering- I teached english in a High School. After returning to Germany and starting to study architecture at University, I now use all the free time I have to travel and see new places.

Почему я на Couchsurfing
The key to getting to know a place is the people, who live there. With Couchsurfing you get to know the places far away from the tourist routes. That's why I find the idea and philosophy of it so inspiring. Wherever I go, I try to Couchsurf as much as possible.
Учить, учиться, делиться
I would like to share my travelling experiences with others and to hear from their adventures!
Мои интересы
As an architecture student I look at cities a little differently than other people. My first look goes upwards- to see the whole house instead of just the storefront/cafe/etc. In my free time I listen to music a lot, read books, watch way too many films and series, but I also like to be active. I like nearly any kind of sports, especially football, longboarding and slacklining.
