CURRENT MISSION I would love to see lots of new places in the world, and immerse myself in a place and feel what it feels like to be a local. I'd also like to share the beautiful area that I live in with other travellers. ABOUT ME I'm a single mom and grandma, I've lived in the Sierra Foothills for 30+ years now, and it's time to do some traveling! Love to get away when the weather's cold and rainy here (January thru March), and I'm happy to host folks in my home. I have three grown kids, and three fantastic grandaughters. PHILOSOPHY Living the life I love, and loving the life I live! Making the most of each day, exploring new places.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I can offer a spare bedroom for travellers to stay in at my home, and I am looking for couches in my travels. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Couch surfed for the first time in Costa Rica in 2008 and it was such a fun experience! I felt so blessed to meet our hosts! Met some great folks couch surfing in beautiful Idaho. I've hosted several couch surfers at my house for a couple nights.

A very wide variety of interests here. I love finding new music that I like, my kids help with that. Mostly bored with hearing the oldies, or "classic rock". New musical loves are Mayer Hawthorne, Latin music, world beat, Devendra Banhart. Old? Talking Heads, Buffalo Springfield, David Bowie, Neil Young, the Beatles. Books? Aldous Huxley, Edward Abbey, self exploration books. Recent fave was Timothy Leary's autobiography - fascinating! Oh, and The Four Agreements came to me at a crucial time in my life!

I've ridden my bicycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles (twice) with the AIDS Life Cycle. What a life changing experience!

Let's see, I know where lots of great trails are. I'm a skilled seamstress and designer, and could teach anyone how to sew on a sewing machine, create articles of clothing. Would like to learn cooking and recipes of other cultures, would like to get more experience at river rafting.

Love riding my bicycle, love the environment and educating people about recycling and sustainability thru our non-profit called "Haute Trash", designing high fashion from trash! Love to travel, river raft, snorkel, scuba dive, hike, playing any kind of board game (Balderdash anyone?) and hang out with my family and friends.
