I think it's one of the best ways to meet local people and get to know different cultures.

I prefer series instead of movies, my favurite series are Breaking Bad, Black Mirror, Dexter, The Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons. My favourite authors are Stephen King, Ken Follett, George Orwell and Daniel Brown.
