Hi! I’m Louna, 28 years old, half Belgian and half French. I spent most of my life in France before moving to Canada three years ago, where I worked in the film industry creating visual effects for movies and TV shows. I’m currently taking a break from that life and went on a big adventure with my boyfriend Nathanael. We left for Thailand 9 months ago on a one-way ticket, with no real plan, just going with the flow and seeing where the road would take us. It’s now been over 9 months on the road: hitchhiking through Southeast Asia, exploring the landscapes of South America, and slowly making our way back to Montreal, trying to avoid flights as much as possible so we can experience everything in between and meet people we would’ve missed otherwise. The last part of our trip is ahead of us: a one-month road trip through the USA, where we hope to camp a lot and enjoy outdoor hikes and adventures. It’s my first time traveling like this, without planning everything in advance. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and prove to myself that I can handle the unexpected. Nathanael hasn’t traveled much before. He started from scratch in English and struggles sometimes, but he’s doing his best and improving every day. We love experiencing life more directly: hitchhiking, meeting locals, and learning from people rather than just visiting tourist spots. I truly think Couchsurfing is an amazing way to do that, especially since I grew up seeing my parents host many strangers through a similar system before I even knew this app existed. We’re easy-going, respectful, and very grateful for any kind of help or encounter along the way :)

Почему я на Couchsurfing
I grew up in a house where my parents often hosted travelers through a similar network called Servas. I loved listening to their stories and learning about their cultures. This summer, I hosted a few travelers myself in France and realized how much I enjoy meeting people this way. Now that I’m traveling, I’d rather stay with locals, share meals and stories, and really experience the country instead of just visiting it from the outside. I’m not here to find free accommodation, what I’m actually looking for is connection, exchange, and authentic encounters with the people who make each place and memories special.

Одно удивительное, что я сделал
Climbed a 6,000-meter peak in Bolivia ! Without a doubt the most difficult and intense experience of my life.
Учить, учиться, делиться
I can help with French or English, and I can play (and teach you) a bit of piano too ! If we can find the right ingredients and tools, I’d love to teach you how to make a proper crème brûlée (famous French desert). I’d also be happy to share about French and Québécois culture and ways of life :) I’m always curious to learn new things, especially about local traditions, and daily life of the people I'm meeting !
Что я могу предложить хостам
We’d be more than happy to help out with daily tasks or anything that needs to be done around the house. I can share stories from my travels (even though I’m just at the beginning of this one), talk about life in France or Canada, or cook something together. Mostly, we’d love to share good conversations, laughter, board games, or movies if you enjoy them. Of course, only if you have the time to do so, if not, that’s perfectly fine too, we can just stay out of your way during the day to let you have your space :)
