Hi, Hola, Hej! I’m Alexandra, formerly from Chisinau, then from Kyiv (Kiev), resident of Gotland, the best ever and the biggest Swedish island in the middle of the Baltic sea :) I do like wild nature from early childhood; that is why I work in the field of Ecology and Nature Protection. I used to teach students as a Senior Lecturer in one of the oldest Ukrainian universities – Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; now I am doing environmental and social research in the oldest university of Sweden - Uppsala university. After I focused more on research, I miss the times of everyday communication with young unbiased ‘minds’ and discovering the world of nature together with my students... Besides the serious academic stuff, I go into all types of outdoors: hiking, skiing, cycling, climbing, kayaking, mountaineering, and alpinism. I am fascinated with any mountains on Earth, wild forests, and the salty smell of the sea. I play guitar and flute - folk Ukrainian and Irish melodies; I like singing.
