I like to think of myself as genuine and down to earth and someone who enjoys people for who they are. I also love to learn and have spent most of the last 10 years travelling and working abroad. Travelling perfectly encompasses many of the things that I love, meeting new people and discovering new places, trying new foods and finding new inspiration. It also encouraged a love of photography,plenty of time is spent in the dark room these days: ) I have many varied interests which take up my time, I love singing and specialise mainly in old Jazz standards, I am an artist and involved in the running of a local studio and gallery!, I love listening to music and collecting records. Love going to markets, love cooking and love having a cold glass of wine on a summers day with friends. PHILOSOPHY In life,I guess its really important to laugh a lot, and to live in the moment as much as possible. I have studied theravada buddism and try to apply some of these principles to my life although i dont strictly follow any religious doctrine and try to take the best aspects from all of them. Being welsh, admittedly im a bit of a socialist at heart,am also interested in the ideas of Walter Benjamin, John Berger, and Guy Deboard. Im a hopeless romantic and try to live as poetically as possible often to ridiculous extremes. In my work it is my aim to create something beautiful amidst the chaos of contemporary living, something both culturally relavant and politically resonant.

I like talking but I do actually prefer listening (if it interests me!!). I look serious a lot of the time but I'm not. I'm interested in most things I don't know about, especially new food and interesting people and stories. I was brought up my doting parents and family in South Wales and fell into a job in radio. In 2000 moved away from home and bought a brand new 2-bed apartment in Chester. Worked for a medical magazine publisher and then helped set up a www.realbuzz.co.uk. 5 years later sold my apt and moved to the Big Smoke and worked for an internet sales house in Soho. Good times! After a year got itchy feet and with my eyes closed and a map and pin in hand I chose to travel for 6 months around south India (based in Bangalore, Pondicherry & Chennai). Headed to China but 'fell' into Thailand on the way for a 2 week holiday... which lasted 2 years after a got a job teaching English in a govt. primary school. Time ticked and I turned 29 and realised I still had itchy feet. Travelled to Perth, Australia for a month and then to East Coast (Syd to Cairns) for the next 2 months. Popped over to NZ to see a friend in Auckland. Then came back to Europe as needed to root myself again. After 3 months at home in Wales, in Mar'10 I got itchy feet again and did a 1-month teaching course in Palma. 6 months later I moved to Guadalajara with big dreams and eventually settled in Madrid, Barrio Salamanca for over 4 years, where life was good. After changing career into hospitality i lived and worked in a hostel in Nerja and loved everything Spain gave me. Spent a few months in Puerto Escondido working at a hostel which didn't work out, helped at a friend's fish taco place and then was convinced by 2 Cancun surf dudes to move to Cancun. Stayed teaching English at www.ihmexico.com/ih-schools/ih-cancun/ for around 8 months and had a blast - really got into the lifestyle and beach-life there and even tried kitesurfing which is definitely on my list to try and continue whenever I have the time, money and conditions (I'm a bit of a warm-water lover ;) ). Now back in South Wales and having a career change into Leisure Management and for the moment living back with my folks until I decide where and what my next plan of attack of life is! This is my story so far.... And have been smiling the whole time. PHILOSOPHY: - Treat people the way you'd like to be treated! Karma works in wondrous ways..... - Sometimes we expect more from others as we would be willing to do that much for them. - The mind is everything. I’m a Nomadic Couchsurfing Ambassador. I’ve been working and traveling for the past 5 years all over the world! If something good happens, travel to celebrate it. If something bad happens, travel to forget it. If nothing happens, travel to make something happen. When I go somewhere, I want to get soaked in it, and leave a changed person. To meet the natives, to live as they live, eat as they eat, celebrate as they celebrate, and feel sadness when I have to leave. I've worn many hats over the years, ranging from chef, bricklayer, beer brewer, to photo booth technician, to stock market IT now, but traveler has always been my favorite.
I've been living in Cardiff for a while now and love the people, the city, and the country. I've been lucky to visit or travel in several countries over the years and enjoy trying to get to know the 'real' aspects of a country at a local level, as well as enjoying the tourist aspects.
Hi i’m a 20 year old student from london living in Cardiff. I spent all of my childhood living in London and moved to Cardiff to study. I study Civil Engineering and I also work as a Chef here. I have been travelling solo as much as I can since the start of 2025 and I have enjoyed experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. I like meeting fellow travellers on their own journey, but in particular I like to meet locals, to understand the place I am visiting by becoming friends with someone with a first hand experience of the place and being able to learn from them.
I’m pretty easy-going and always up for an adventure — especially anything outdoorsy. I’m a big fan of nature, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and generally finding cool places that aren’t necessarily in the guidebook. I also love going out for food, checking out local bars and having a good night with new people.
