Hi there! I'm Rooyan, a medical doctor currently working as a resident in neurology. I have a deep love for books and enjoy engaging in meaningful conversations. I immigrated to Germany almost two years ago and have been exploring the beauty of this country while navigating life as an expat. CURRENT MISSION I'm very sad to see how Couchsurfing website is changing more and more into a direction that is not anymore about community making but into the direction of providing services. ABOUT ME I'm a monster, I hate people, especially normal people! Anthropology is one of my islands, Art in general, especially cinema/video, are the ocean around it. I work in a small independent cinema. I am active in very different social fields that for me are relevant and important: Feminism, Queer-activism, PoC-empowerment, are some keywords about them. I like to explore the city where I live as if I have never been there, and it's hard to keep the eye in alert, but most of the time I'm able to do it. I believe that every person has something interesting to share, a hidden universe to discover. That's one of the reasons why I like to meet people and their particular points of view about life. Besides all that I like to listen to music, read many books, watch movies, ride my bike, swim, cook, dance, paint... take pictures (so please smile) So I'm just a common guy living his life and letting others do their ways (see about people I enjoy below). PHILOSOPHY I like to discover personal universes, I'm passionate to meet people and their particular points of view about life. I like to know what happens in the world, although often, I wish that did not happen. The world in which we live is sometimes ridiculous, but to live is the only real treasure that we have.

I love meeting people from other countries, listening to travel stories and learning about other cultures. In reality I'm not a talkitive person, but Couchsurfing has completely changed me, after meeting so many people from different backgrounds I've many Things now to talk about. I go out every weekend for hiking with several others in Nordrhein Westfalen region of Germany, which is where I currently live. I try to go biking/mountain biking as and when I find enthusiastic people around. I have recently discovered my interest for Kayaking and Canoeing. I just love the soothing sound of Handpan and also had an opportunity to play it while doing Couchsurfing and Workaway. Regularly doing yoga, meditating, eating healthy are a part of my daily routine to stay fit and try and enjoy every moment of life.

I am an environmentalist by profession and feel the need of being sustainably conscious. I lead a simple life trying to live with the minimum. I am passionate about being green. I am extremely fond of cooking and therefore in search of new recipes and ingredients. I prefer vegetarian though NOT vegan.
