Couchsurfing is slowly dying in the US, we are glad you found us through the paywall 👍 Greetings and salutations, fellow wandering comrades! I am Julia, you can call me Muffin, any/all. I moved in St. Louis (STL) in August 2017 settling down after work around Southeast Asia and some other continents for some time. I graduated in 2019 with my master’s level degrees in public health and social work and stayed here in STL city to experience corporate work, then NFP work, and now I also have my own psychotherapy private practice. Grew up in the elitist east coast, in New Jersey, and of all the places I lived I love St. Louis, Missouri. It is an important place to truly understand what a hellscape US policy and manufactured consent can look like — anyway. STL an affordable little gem and I think will get super popular in a decade (wrote this in 2019). My background is in clinical social work and teaching things: anti-imperialism, ESL, technology use, swimming, and coping with life (trauma therapist). I've worked at psychiatric hospitals and community centers, foundations and at Apple. I'm very interested in anti-capitalism, art and self-care.. and so it goes… As a surfer I seek to be helpful, tidy and positive. Happy to take care of pets, children, chores or cook a meal. If you send a request please tell me your pronouns or favorite flower. It’s one of the ways we know that y’all read profiles 🃏 This home is centers humanity and anti-imperialism, from Ireland, to the DRC, to Palestine. فلسطين حرة
[Disclaimer: I'm not here for dating or hookups, and I'm not interested in romantic connections with men either. CS for me personally is about fellow travelers sharing experiences, exchanging advice, and making connections all over the world.] [Unfortunately, I am unable to host at present, but would like to do so in the future.] Hi! I am a 31-year-old accountant working at a personal injury law firm in downtown St. Louis. I also run my own house-sitting and pet care business on the side. Feel free to message me if you’d like recommendations on things to do or tips for staying safe in St. Louis! Check out my brand new travel page! @oat.of.office https://www.instagram.com/oat.of.office/ -------------------------------------------------------- Some details about me: My Enneagram is 5w4 (tritype 549), if that means anything to you and it didn't just sound like I rattled off a string of random numbers and letters. lol Basically, it means I live in my head, crave depth and meaning in life, and prefer peace over conflict. I try to see everyone's side on a matter—something that helps me understand not just what you believe, but why you believe it. Even if I don't agree with you, I can respect where you're coming from if it's rooted in a genuine attempt to do what's right. As for MBTI—after years of taking in-depth tests, I've found I identify as an INTJ who leans INTP, though my personality also incorporates strong elements from INFP and ENFP. I think personality systems are useful because they reveal to us idealized models, suited to us, we can aspire to be. They also can teach us what makes us 'tick' and give us a language to describe patterns we’ve always felt but never articulated.
BEFORE REQUESTING TO STAY WITH ME: -read my "prompt answer" -read my home section -write a personal request that communicates you've read both
Hey ya'll. My name is Jacq. I've been on CS since the early 2010s even though my profile says 2024. I took a long break during the years CS was transitioning to a more business-oriented model and because new travel platforms such as Airbnb was rising. Though it was an exciting way to travel and experience the world, I found platforms like that to be locally disconnecting and a less immersive experience that CS has afforded me time and time again. I've also noticed the impact platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO has had on the housing market and to would be homeowners. Seeing those negative impacts has driven me to come back and help folks find alternative ways of travelling while not influencing the lack of housing due to tourism. Save a few bucks along the way. Couchsurfing, then, has helped me explore new cities and meet some incredible people along the way. Now, I want to be able to give back to this community by offering a comfortable place to call home during your travels. Let's chat and see how best I can offer my space to you. Some quick things about me. I love cycling, snacks, sunbathing in the park, dancing, beach, jumping into a river, kayaking, museums, and sharing stories with new friends over a table full of drinks and tasty food to share. As a guest: I keep my area nice and tidy, participate in helping clean, non-smoker, I respect quiet hours of the night, can be an early morning person. As a host: Currently on pause due to moving to a differentcity. You can expect a clean and quiet place to call home. A private room, shared bathroom, and fresh linens.

Salutations intrepid traveler! Im Jake Stief. I’m a philosophy graduate so naturally, rather than have a career, I travel around the world living out of my backpack. I love rock climbing and I travel with my gear, so if anyone wants to climb, hmu.
Hi I’m Angela, single mom, outdoor educator/Forest School teacher. I’ve studied abroad in Provence, France and went to grad school in Washington DC. I speak English, French and some Spanish. When I’m not busy with work or family obligations I dabble in writing poetry and making up children’s stories, get out on the town and see live music, work on an exhibition of my photography, and adventure in and around my city - on and off - the beaten paths! I live just 10 minutes south of Downtown St Louis (by car via Hwy 55) including easy access to Soulard, Cherokee Street and Tower Grove areas. I’m born and raised in St Louis and know the city and suburbs very well. My two very cool, kind teenage boys are with me every other week.
I enjoy the outdoors and nearly every kind of cuisine. I'm pretty passionate about culinary arts, actually. There are few things I appreciate more than a nutritious and delicious meal. I typically travel with a loose outline dotted by a few definite plans but discover local events and hidden spots along the way. I try to steer clear of tourist traps and live as locals live.
