I'm just this guy... My main joys in life are making and appreciating music, as well as anything travel/outdoorsy or geographical, science, cycling, and of course interesting company and conversation and stories. I'm always up for a bike ride/walking/exploring, a road trip, or a good jam session - I play jazz, classical and rock/pop piano. I also enjoy cooking and am trying to get back into it after a long break. I grew up in the Chicago area and have also lived in Urbana IL, Hong Kong, Seattle, and New York before moving to Charlotte in 2017 to teach atmospheric science (the science of climate and weather and all that stuff) at UNC Charlotte.

As a kid I had a life-changing conversation about sharing and it was with a parrot. It taught me the value of compromise. I live in the Short North and work in downtown Columbus.
