Have a real connection with southern Africa and at last count had visited 14 times. South Africa in particular is very special to me. It inspires, amazes and awes each time I visit. ABOUT ME Just to let you know I recently retired as a frontline medical Social Worker in Surgery I'm uptodate in my Covid and flu vaccines, but have been precautionary in as to guests in recent years. In 2026 have had a hip replacement surgery after some mobility restrictions and limited some times as acting as a host. Definitely a northern gal.. I am Canadian, loving life in the north at home base in Alberta, but with some work experience in the arctic over 10 years ago. As a relief social worker in the Nunavut, I did stints both at Christmas and in the summer. Reminded now about the fragility of age as retired in Jan. 2025, I have now remained closer to home with the odd hospital social work shift, some travelling into. Rockies and BC, enjoying swimming, journaling and gardening. Prior to the pandemic enjoyed hosting university students and other travellers. Our household of five cats, Duchess, Princess, Marci, L'l Prince and Big Prince. Out front of my house, have placed a bench and a little free library.
