I left home in 2018 and chose the slow road across Africa โ hitchhiking, walking, riding trucks, boats and sometimes pure luck. In the Sahara I followed Tuareg routes between Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Niger. I crossed the Mauritanian desert on top of the iron ore train. I got lost for days in West African forests and found my way again thanks to villagers who had nothing but still shared everything. I attended the Magal of Touba with millions of people, reached Timbuktu on a UN flight, lived with traditional communities, and learned that the real map of the world is made of human connections. These experiences didnโt make me extreme โ they made me humble, patient and deeply respectful of peopleโs homes and cultures. Today I continue traveling slowly toward Asia, trying to understand places through daily life, conversations and shared meals rather than tourism. Iโm also a photographer. I document historical places, streets and ordinary moments. If you like, we can explore your city together on a small photo walk ๐ท Couchsurfing for me is a circle of hospitality: I hosted travelers before, and now Iโm happy to be hosted and share the same spirit. Instagram : Mehdi.Bel.Hadj โธป WHAT I BRING WITH ME โข Tunisian cooking โข Stories from the road (only if you want ๐) โข Help with daily tasks โข Clean, quiet and respectful energy โข Cultural and language exchange Minimalist backpack, organized, and respectful of house rules. โธป INTERESTS History, religions, old cities Street photography Local markets and long walks Tea/coffee and meaningful conversations ๐ Hospitality around the world After traveling through many countries, these are my personal experiences with hospitality: โค๏ธ The most hospitable countries Iโve visited: Tunisia ๐น๐ณ ยท Algeria ๐ฉ๐ฟ ยท Niger ๐ณ๐ช ยท Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ ยท Uganda ๐บ๐ฌ ยท Syria ๐ธ๐พ ยท Senegal ๐ธ๐ณ ยท Saudi Arabia ๐ธ๐ฆ ยท Jordan ๐ฏ๐ด ยท Turkey ๐น๐ท ๐คท Countries where I personally didnโt find much hospitality: Azerbaijan ๐ฆ๐ฟ ยท DR Congo ๐จ๐ฉ ยท Gabon ๐ฌ๐ฆ ยท Seychelles ๐ธ๐จ This is purely based on my own experiences while traveling. Itโs not a judgment of the people or the countries as a whole โ everyoneโs experience can be different.
