Realized redneck, too-late hippie, backwoods hillbilly, confused engineer, hopeless tinkerer, happy vagabond, self-conscious socialite, gutter punk, alley cat, rain dog, dad... unequal parts but each substantial. I no longer smoke cigarette butts from ashtrays while drinking too much alcohol, instead I'm focusing on a wonderful love and a healthy yoga practice. I've put sweat and blood and a good share of my life into promoting growth and function of our local organic food co-op, and still eat McDonalds and bad pizza. I'm a peace-loving humanist with a best friend who gets into fistfights way too often. Music saved my life. Eliza is here as well. She's a funny, chill, positive, garden-dwelling yogi-nurse-massage therapist. She's a lover, social activist, eater and chef, master of "name that band", kitchen dancer, lover of flowers, and vegetables too, and the bees that make it all happen. She's a tarot reader and moon watcher. She might learn to play the viola someday. She doesn't like "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles. But she does, in general, like the Beatles. You'll find her in the sun, or perhaps gazing at the moon, or perhaps over near the honey pot. Mooney might be here as well. She's a hoot and a holler, a 12-year old who can't be bothered, a budding artist and general all-around advice giver. She likes making up lyrics to songs that you wish you would have written. She doesnโt like when I tell the waitress that I canโt smell my food because all I can smell is the Fabulosa. She names things.
My wife Becca and I are pretty laid back and always willing to help out a friend in need. We love hosting almost as much as we love traveling. Our planet and the people who live on it are so darn cool and diverse that we canโt even handle it sometimes. Wohoo for couch surfing!! We typically don't accept reservations more than 1 or 2 days in advance of your stay. Sorry but we have wild schedules and just don't plan that far in advance! We are now a family of 3! Our son, Benjamin, was born 29 December, 2021. PHILOSOPHY Love everyone, keep an open mind and to steal one from Gandhi... "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Chemical engineer, gay and married

I have been living the nomad life since 2020. I work as a contractor in hospitality and host my own website which features my photography and travel stories at https://connect.jeffreyrosenkrantz.com
An assortment of facts with no discernible organization: Iโm a Sagittarius with Gemini rising and Gemini Moon, coming to a community near you. I am at a crossroads in my life, discovering career path(s) unfolding and exploring new cities, seeking a place to settle for keeps. I write, read, watch, cook, bake, hike, nest, and play dad to a black cat and a litter of houseplants. I believe in kindness, non-judgment, discipline, forgiveness, commitment, justice , equity, and unconditional love on a personal and global scale. I am gay. Besides astrology, Iโm interested in various metaphysical things (crystals, consciousness, and quantum physics are pretty cool). I havenโt traveled internationally much, but I have seen a healthy share of the US (Iโve lived in 9 different cities and visited 33 states). Lastly for now, my Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ. Whatโs yours?
It was a good run, but due to the recent changes to Couchsurfing I am no longer active on here. Good luck out there!
you might notice that iโve just come back and donโt have many references yet, but you can definitely check out my other social media accounts to get to know me better. i believe this platform is all about openness, and itโs such a great way to meet all kinds of people. so letโs keep an open mind and connect๐งก๐ฉต I am a seeker of stories, an observer of the quiet beauty in all that surrounds us. Born with an insatiable curiosity๐, I find joy in wandering through both the familiar and the unknown, always learning, always growing. Raised in the rich culture of Wuhan, my journey has taken me far beyond its borders, as I continue to explore not just places, but ideas, emotions, and the deeper connections that tie us all together. I believe every city, every person, and every moment holds something worth cherishing. My travels are not just about seeing new sights but about delving into the essence of each place and its people. From the early morning street markets to the quiet moments of solitude in nature, I seek out those experiences that speak to the soul.๐ฅฅ I live simply, with a focus on balance whether itโs through my love for cooking and sharing meals, or the time I take for mindfulness and reflection. I love conversations that linger late into the night, where ideas flow as freely as laughter. To me, the world is a tapestry of stories waiting to be shared.๐ง
Hi I'm a physician
CURRENT MISSION Trying to better the world through bettering myself - be the change you want to see! ABOUT ME I have traveled all over the US (more on the west side), currently I live in South Dakota. Not from here, or from anywhere for that matter (moved too much to develop roots growing up), but I've spent more time here than anywhere. And my children (two amazing boys, 6 and 9) have most of their family here, so I guess it's home.. for now ;-) I'm a hobbiest/philosopher/artist/entrepreneur/philanthropist. I'm "old-school" (or so I've been told), and I definitely feel I was born in the wrong era. Simple is how I like my life, as few distractions as possible. I enjoy reading, playing board games, cards, and I like to tell myself in good at holding a conversation. Everything I have is at your disposal, what little there is. God's greatly blessed my life with couchsurfing, and I like to give in turn (no, I won't try to convert you - to each their own). Sometimes the schedule of another couchsurfer or two may coincide with your visit, but I try to always forewarn. I also bring home random hitchhikers from time to time lol. I never offer to host more than I have capacity for though, and so far no one has had to share a room with a stranger (aside from me, but if you're worried about strangers why are you couchsurfing?) I'm very hands on and DIY, and I love to share what I know. I'm also always eager to learn more and brainstorm ideas. I'm very into self-sustainment, so anything along the lines of that I love. My dream is to one day (hopefully soon) own my own piece of land, fully off-grid and self-sustained. I figure if I have a place to sleep and food to eat, I need nothing else. As far as the area, I love this most I think out of everything I've seen. There's a lot to do here, if you got the time. We have a little bit of city life, mostly during the summer. But we have a plethora of outdoor activities to do year round! Anyways, if you feel you'd enjoy a stay at my humble abode, or just want to meet up, please feel free to send me a request. Safe travels - hope to see you in the beautiful Black Hills! PHILOSOPHY So many... I suppose this sums it up best... Don't allow time to fill you - fill your time. Understand balance; money does not equal success. Only allow those you choose to be around you. If the company you keep causes unhappiness you are to blame. Abstain from boredom, never complain. Take responsibility for your actions. Earn your keep; dues aren't paid, past tense - dues get paid, each and every day. You are only worth the contribution you make. No job is too menial, you are not entitled to anything but the fruits of your own labor. Ask questions; question everything. A wise man will learn more from a foolish question than a fool will learn from a wise answer. Failure is normal and common - accept it and grow from it; the only people who never fail are those who never try. Be clear and certain about what you want (and don't want) for your life; focus on it, act on it. Volunteer - action brings opportunity. Make others happy - you attract what you project. Communicate; control your ego. Confidence trumps arrogance. Focus on the solution - not the problem. Be humble, admit to your mistakes and shortcomings. Set high standards for yourself, face challenges boldly. Focus on the positive, forget the negative. Finish what you start. Allow personal complexity; get reacquainted with your WHOLE being - physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual. Welcome all information, embrace knowledge. Accept obstacles as building blocks instead of road blocks. Be the change you want to see.
AVAILABLE TO HOST UNTIL AUGUST 24th! Travis (27) and I (23) have been married since mid-2024 and have made intentionally experiencing the world a priority for our lives! We have learned through our explorations that people are what really make any place special.
