I’m Anthony from Québec and I live in Sherbrooke, not far from downtown. I share my daily life with two chihuahuas (my “adorable little devils”) who love meeting new people. I consider myself as an introvert. I had the chance to work in China for a while – a memorable experience – and I travel regularly. In winter 2023, I discovered Couchsurfing for the first time in Indonesia as a guest. It was a great experience that made me want to keep going, and also to host when I have free time. My passions? History and biography books, languages (I speak French and English, with some basics in Chinese and Spanish). I’m also very interested in Arabic, Persian, Turkish. Even if I’ll never learn all the languages I’d like to, I find it fascinating to discover new sounds and cultures. I’m a bit introverted, but I enjoy going for walks, having a craft beer, or sharing good conversations. Hi! We’re Jolene and Eric from Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada ❤️ We’ve been together since January 2012 and homeowners since October 2013. About us: I’ve worked in clerical work for the Government of Quebec since September 2011. Eric is a building technician at the University of Sherbrooke. We’re stable, reliable, and we know how to respect a home and routine. Travel: Before meeting Eric, I traveled solo to France, Germany, Canary Islands, Central America, San Andrés Island, Cuba, the USA, and across Canada. Together we’ve visited: Canada, a bit of the USA, Cuba, Iceland, Ireland, France, Germany, one city in the Czech Republic, Norway, a bit of Sweden, Martinique, St-Martin, Guadeloupe, Portugal, Barbados, and Hawaii. About me: I’ve always followed my curiosity. I did Katimavik in 3 Canadian provinces, spent 14 months au-pairing in Abbotsford BC with an English-speaking family, backpacked 1 year solo in Europe, and 9 months solo in Central America. I also did a student internship in Peru. Those trips taught me to be independent, adaptable, and super respectful of people’s homes. I’m sociable, talkative, curious, and open-minded. I love cooking, long walks, and sharing stories over coffee or tea. About Eric: He’s great at fixing small things, loves the outdoors, and makes a mean pancake on Sunday mornings 😊 What we offer as guests: We’ll help with groceries, cook you a Québécois meal, walk the dog, water plants, or just share travel stories. We’re tidy, quiet, and leave places cleaner than we found them. A note: I do have allergies but I take medication as needed. We love animals and are comfortable around them. Languages: French native, fluent English, and I speak Spanish (Latin American). We’re looking for hosts who love to chat, show us their favorite local spots, and maybe go for a walk together.
