CURRENT MISSION Bid Farewell To Europe ABOUT ME Hey everyone! I have decided to be the perpetual student, as it allows me the time and flexibility to travel around the world at a whim. I am doing a doctorate in history, but I try not to bore people with it, so we don't have to talk about it if you don't want! I was born in Bulgaria, but moved to the UK when I was 12, and since 2011 have been studying in the USA. So travelling and moving has been a big part of my life - and I intend to keep it that way. PHILOSOPHY The less concrete, the better. The more sky, the better. Other such pretentious things - basically travel and see more things before the Grim Reaper catches up with you and prevents any more exciting escapades in the Third World. Also, enjoy life rather than get caught up in it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Trying to offer some place to stay at the Dreaming Spires but for now just able to meet people, go for a drink or six and show them the delights of the town. Will hopefully be able to offer more soon. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Couchsurfed during a trip to Southern France in 2008 and had a great time, but study and other commitments have meant that I have not been able to take the opportunity to couchsurf again! However, I am currently embarking on a 3-month trip around South America so hope I can get back into it as I loved every minute of it.
Music, Movies, and Books
I pretty much love music - playing it and listening to it. Blues, tons of classic and prog rock (fashionable, I know), some jazz, even heavy metal at times. Particular favourites included Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, John Lee Hooker, The Doors, Porcupine Tree etc. I have time for most movies, but Come and See is my favourite film and I can always, always watch the glorious anarchy of Fifth Element. I try to read as widely as I can, sci-fi and historical fiction holding a prominent place in my tastes. Asimov, Philip K Dick, Vonnegut, Wilde, Cormac McCarthy.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Hitch-hiked and couchsurfed around the south of France for an amazing two weeks. Met new people, discovered the culinary delights that are bread and cheese and became more and more proficient in setting up tents. Spent a few weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia in the summer of 2012, fulfilling a childhood dream to see Angkor Wat. I once saw five people slip at the same patch of ice at university, one after the other. Schadenfreude made me enjoy it, and then the universe reminded me of my place as I became the sixth person to slip there.
My Interests
Apart from travel (which is why I am here!), writing and playing music (badly, but that helps me think I am a big-time rock star), politics (but I don't bore people with them), reading and writing of pretentious/awful literature, films and TV Shows. Anything unusual that can tickle my fancy - places and people included.
