Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I was first introduced to CS years ago on my first adventure in Turkey..... I have been fortunate to have had places to stay, (friends, family or jobs) and have not fully taken advantage of CS.....nor have I ever had a couch of my own to freely lend out :( One day I hope that will change until then I hope to meet fellow C-Surfers and exchange stories, laughs, smiles and adventures!!!!
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies--> Not really into them, can't sit still for that long! Prefer to live my own movie! Books--> Anything about Food politics, (Pollan) cookbooks in all languages...also Salinger, Orwell, the list goes on and on and on.... Music--> I generally love it all from reggae to rap, classical to crunk, techno to trance, hip-hop to house, gnawa to garage rock, funk to jazz, traditional, indie, and ethnic...if it's got a good beat and rythym... LET IT SPIN!!!!
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I have had the chance to live, work and travel in many countries and along the way I have made and met some of the most amazing and important people in my life. From new friends to new "families" I feel, well words cannot express how happy and wonderful I feel because of this. I have learned so much more than I ever thought or knew was possible!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about food, from the root to the table...but I am always looking for a new recipe!!! I love learning about the history of places, how times and places have changed them as well as the impact of government, laws and politics on people, the land, and the culture and ....and I love finding the best local food to eat.. whether it be at a friends home or in a small restaurant or on the street, where to get the best coffee, namkeen, chai, dosa, burek, croissant, kebap, tapas, fruits, and spices, you name it!!!!
My Interests
Anything outdoors!!!! Hiking, climbing, bike riding, swimming, organic farming, making things from scratch,exploring new cities, towns and villages, eating, drinking, being merry!
