Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING We have a 4 bedroom home in the foothills of Western NC, really pretty in Fall and springtime. 1 hour drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and the hightest point east of the Mississipi. We love to host, and have a myriad of things to do in our area. After youre done hiking or fishing or horseback riding, hop in the hot tub and look at the stars which are spectacular out here. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE CS is the best! We have stayed on many a relatives' couch when traveling. Love to camp, its always better when you get to meet the other guests/campers/hosts!
Music, Movies, and Books
Partial to Classical music, Jazz, Classic Rock, Funk. Lived in New Orleans for 12 years..... Loved OUT OF AFRICA, Into the Void, love foreign flicks....... just finished The Lacuna, love Wally Lamb.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Cruised the Milford Sound. Toured the Melbourne coast....Cruised the Mediterranean. Hawaii is spectacular! Saw Africa from Gibraltar, which is really amazing.

Everyone has a bounty of experience to draw from. We believe that what has happened over the last 10 years in the USA is shameful. If we had only listened to Al Gore and put the budget surplus of 2000 in a " lock box" and had the foresight to see that Enron was about to happen to the financial markets and not allowed NAFTA-like enterprises to ruin the economy we would not be in the situation we now find ourselves. Shame on our leaders to be so selfish and shortsighted. Travel is the only way to now enjoy life, God bless organizations like couchsurfing! Keep it non corporate though.
