Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm eager to hear peoples travelling tales. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Yes both as host (with CS and other organisations) and as guest. I can sleep anywhere dry. I tried sleeping in the rain once (unintentionally) but prefer not to do so again. As a CS guest I always like to buy in dinner for all and provide the wine.
Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to list. Beware - I play the bagpipes.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Watched a huge shark follow our yacht sailing bewteen mainland Australia and Tasmania. Flown by helicopter (for work) through the limestone ravines half way down the Island of East new Britian (Papua New Guinea), past gushing tropical floodwaters spilling out of caves half way up the ravaine walls. Flown along the Andes in brilliant sunshine. Watched the birth of my three children... Swam in the torquoise seas of the Indian Ocean in the Maldives.. Dived on WW2 Japanes shipwrecks 50 meters below Simpson Harbour Rabaul... before the volcanic eruption... Walked fromn Lands End to the top of the Pennine Way in Scotland and cycled from there to John O'Groats 2013. Cycled from Barcelona to Dieppe then climbed the Schinglehorn with my son (2011). So many more things to see and do... complete renovations of the house in Huelgoat Brittany, more fells / Munros / mountains ... rivers seas
