CURRENT MISSION Continue to be travelers and listeners of many musics, that's our motto. That, and everybody wang chung tonight. ABOUT ME We are Brad & Heater. You will very rarely find us apart, especially now that we have our little guy, Kanyon (chocolate lab/border collie). He was born on Sept. 26, 08 and we've had him since he was six weeks old. He is the raddest, most amazing, smartest, greatest, cutest, perfect little puppy in the whole world - sorry, it just had to be said. We've been together for nearly a year now and pretty much started off the relationship traveling together. Our first Valentine's Day was spent camping in the back of Heater's Tacoma (The Troutmobile) and fishing on the Deschutes. Shortly thereafter, we spent a week camping and traveling around the Oregon coast steelheading with another friend. In April, we traveled to O'ahu and Kauai and ended up staying. Bought Gus, the van, and lived on the beach for almost two months (life without refrigeration is interesting). Our summer adventures took us through Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah (stopped - worked at a resort for a week, then Brad was called out for disaster relief work in WI), Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin (lived in the back of the Troutmobile for three weeks whilst doing housing inspections), Minnesota, South Dakota (and on back to Oregon with a short pit-stop for some fishing & partyin' in Steamboat). Just a couple months later, Brad got called down to Louisiana & Texas for hurricane relief work & off we went again! I guess you could say our 2008 was pretty dang busy. :-) As we look into the future, we hope to travel to many, many more amazing places, such as New Zealand, Europe, South America, Canada, & of course finish conquering all 50 states (Brad only needs AK, ND, & RI). At home, we spend most of our time plotting out new trips and trying to finagle time off & quick money-making schemes to afford said trips. We have all six seasons of Family Guy on disc and watch at least one episode per day, for good morale purposes, of course. The sounds of Bob Marley, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Slightly Stoopid, and the like are commonly heard when hanging in our home. Music is very prevalent around here - we have several guitars to tinker with, as well as, shakers, tambourine, recorder, and harmonicas - let's jam! Our ideal day is usually made that much better with a nice, crisp Pabst Blue Ribbon, but willing to compromise if another barley & hop flavored beverage is available. It's hard to believe that there is finally a way to connect with all the awesome people of the world that share our same love: traveling & meeting new people along the way! Cheers! Brad & Heater PHILOSOPHY Everybody wang chung tonight.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING We're just learning about this project, but we're in love with the idea! We would love to host, as much as we want to hop around and meet the masses. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE When we were in O'ahu, we stayed with my high school friend on the north shore. Four people lived in the 3BR/1BA house, but in addition to us, two other guys were staying in the living room - just passin' through & doing some surfing. The head of the house said it wasn't uncommon to have upwards of 10 people staying with them during the winter big wave season.
Music, Movies, and Books
Bob Marley, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Slightly Stoopid, and the like. Family Guy, Out Cold, Wedding Crashers, Trout Bum Diaries, Super Troopers, Ace Ventura...
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Heater - the greatest place on earth (in my humble opinion) is the Grand Canyon. Rafting down there at the age of 16 completely changed my life forever. I'm so grateful for every second I get to spend in GCNP. Brad - Seeing all the beautiful reefs while diving in the Florida Keys, a Princeville sunset in Hawaii, or riding out a Cat4 hurricane... I just can't decide.
Teach, Learn, Share
Heater has a hand stretch that makes people line up waiting for their turn. She loves to learn new tunes on her guitar or just about any other piece of knowledge you're willing to part with. We both have experience teaching folks to fly cast, if you're interested in participating in that whole, "give a man a fish... teach a man to fish" bologna. :-) We love stories! Please bring as many as you can fit in your pack.
