CURRENT MISSION Hard at work, building great skills in digital media, storytelling and constructive team building. ABOUT ME Always looking to be inspired & moved by amazing locations, genuine people and everything that comes along the way. I love sports (play soccer and watch baseball & basketball), music, film and writing. I'd consider myself a funny person... very laid back and go-with-the-flow type but not a clinger. Expect a sharp wit and a knack for (sensible) mischief. PHILOSOPHY “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” -Mark Twain

One Amazing Thing I've Done
I think the most amazing thing I've ever done is riding a motorbike through the Laos jungles around Khoum Khaum. I left on a 250-km excursion at 4:45 AM when the stars were vivid and absolutely amazing. As I was winding around the empty mountain roads in the pitch dark, the sun slowly rose, shedding light on the children and villagers who had begun emerging from their huts to pursue their days' activities. Certainly not a mind-blowing story on the surface, but something about being in that environment - my bike and I alone on the road, the light hitting the surreal landscape of limestone mountains and wild jungle green - made it a very special, surreal memory. Here's a glimpse of that amazing ride:
Teach, Learn, Share
I love soccer but I don't know how much an American can teach you. Volleyball too! I'm always willing to read someone's writing and offer critique / advice. I'm very open to talking politics. I think it's important for foreigners to know that there are intelligent, thoughtful, compassionate americans. I also really like talking about technology and how we'll live in the future. I would love to learn more about cooking, and of course it's always nice to get lessons on local languages for wherever I happen to be!
My Interests
Writing, playing or watching sports, punning around, eating something I've cooked, making people laugh, movies, music, new cultural events
