I am a professor of Rock and Roll History as well as Creative Writing in Portland, and I love it! I also work part-time as a creative consultant, and in my spare time I cook, play music and try to travel whenever possible. I love culture, architecture, history, food and drink, and try to seek them out in every new place I visit.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
When I host, I pretend to play tour guide in my hometown. I hope to meet travelers that will return the favor should I visit their city! It's always peak travel season here in Portland, so I get lots of requests, but I answer them as quickly as possible. I'm also always interested in meet-ups with travelers!
Music, Movies, and Books
Any and all kinds of music. Wait... Scratch that. I could skip classical, opera and metal. I prefer TV over movies, and love quirky comedies and just about anything the BBC makes. I read a lot of books for school, so nothing incredibly exciting right now.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
One thing? But there are so many! I ran with the bulls in Spain. Scary as hell, but amazing. I swam in the calanques of France. Bluest water I have ever seen. I took a scooter down the coast of Portugal. Some of the most beautiful coastlines and stinging sand I've ever witnessed.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Portland and its history. Music culture. Mixology. Photography. Writing. Grammar. Basic automotive repair. Learn: That's YOUR job. Learn me something! Share: Never underestimate anyone... People can surprise you!
What I Can Share With Hosts
My life experiences have been interesting, to say the least. Everyone has a different story - I love to hear from others, and share my own.
My Interests
I love a good drink and to cook, epecially BBQ'd meats. I love to tell stories and jokes, play music, play trivia, sing, take in a soccer (football to almost everyone else) match, and show visitors my hometown.
