Couch Surfing has always been good to me - both as a traveler and an expat - connecting me with amazing people from all around the world. Although I have a busy schedule these days, I try to stay connected to meet with new people or just help those out who are passing through. Swam with whale sharks in the Philippines & met the President of Paraguay....although not at the same time...but that would have been cool.
