CURRENT MISSION "Enjoy what there is to enjoy in the world!" It's easy to get stressed out and lose sight of the bigger picture. A work in progress! ABOUT ME I'm American, but I'm also officially French now. I've been living and working in France for the past 11 years. I can sometimes be a little shy and reserved until I know someone, but then watch out :) I enjoy talking about books, movies, politics (as long as it stays polite) and I'm generally fairly curious about people and places. When I travel, I try to plan one thing to do every day and then have the rest of the day to enjoy the place I'm in with no constraints. I enjoy going out, but I'm not a big party animal. I'm pretty clean, though not obsessively so, and I try to be respectful. PHILOSOPHY I try to be open-minded and have a live-and-let-live philosophy :) and also to enjoy life a little more and make an effort to connect more with people.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Not sure what to say here. A friend who does this suggested it to me. I think that there has to be a balance in these things, so if I surf, then I will host. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE If I do this, it will be my first couchsurfing experience! I have stayed in a room in someone's apartment before, through a similar site. I was a little disappointed because they were never around (I quite literally saw them for 15 minutes total). I'm independent and do not require babysitting, but it's really nice to have some company and to share experiences with other people.

One Amazing Thing I've Done
I think it's amazing to have the opportunity to travel and see new places and meet different people. I don't have to see something *amazing* when I go somewhere. I try to remember that it is a privilege to travel and that having that privilege makes me very lucky.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm, what can I teach? I would love to have a language exchange, either English or French in exchange for Italian. I love languages and I love talking about words and answering people's language questions. I'm a decent cook and would be happy to try out a new recipe with someone. And I would be thrilled to learn a recipe from someone.
My Interests
I like movies, reading, going to the beach, doing cultural things, dancing, cooking, going out to eat, having a nice glass of wine, etc.
