Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Unfortunately, at the moment I'm living in a rented appartment with hardly any place for me, not to speak of guests...But I'll be most glad to show you around Oxford! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Being quite busy (working from 8 to 5 and doing a master's degree), I'm trying to look through all requests. I don't know why but it's always has smth to do with my Birthday!) On my Birthday in 2009, I was a kind of a "city guide" for an English guy during his trip on the Transsiberian Express. In 2013, I managed to celebrate my b-day in 3 different cities in Israel in one day! All this due to Couchsurfing and amazing people participating in it.
Music, Movies, and Books
I can't live without music: Balkan-Klezmer, 60ies, Ambient, trip-hop, Jazz, Blues, funk, folk, rock, electronic, classical and piano music (Ludovico Einaudi), OST, Musicals, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Rolling Stones, etc. Long time ago I graduated from music school so I was able to play piano, but now I can only sing) Movies: BBC adaptations, old movies with Vivien Leigh (Gone with the Wind, A Streetcar Named Desire), early Woody Allen, one of my absolute favorites is "In the Mood for Love" by Wong Kar-wai, Mar adentro, The Pianist, Life is Beautiful, Big Fish, The Fisher King, Dancer in the Dark, Stranger than Paradise, Donnie Darko, Underground, Big Lebovski, In Bruges, Monthy Python, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, The Terminal, Rainman, the Prestige, Inception; some French movies - Un homme et une femme, Les Choristes, Intouchables; and German - Vier Minuten, Gegen die Wand. Books: though they say reading is an intelligent way of not having to think, still I love Oscar Wilde, Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote, Fitzgerald, Remarque, Tom Wolfe, Thomas Eliot, Martin McDonagh, Romain Gary, Henri Troyat, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt; Dostoyevsky, Brodsky, Nabokov, Mandelstam, Marienhof, Sergei Dovlatov and many-many others
