My name is Lia; I grew up in a rural area in Northern NJ where we had a ton of pets on our 16-acre farm, and where I gained an extreme appreciation for nature and natural beauty. I love being outdoors, I love hiking, swimming, running, sports, animals, camping, circus arts, fire performance, hula hooping, acro yoga, visual arts, painting, sculpture, and much much more.... I attended college at SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, NY and graduated in 2009 with a BA in Visual Arts. I have also more recently studied a variety of meditative and spiritual practices including vipassana meditation, hypnosis, sound healing, energy healing, alchemy and more... I am open minded, creative and love learning and sharing knowledge.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I have both hosted surfers, and have been a guest as well and have had nothing but amazing experiences! Some of the most beautiful people I have met have been through couchsurfing. I love the open mindedness of this community! I've surfed many different couches and have had nothing but fantastic experiences.

I love all kinds of music... classic rock, jazz, reggae, hip hop, latin and more! Some of my past favorite books include The World According to Garp, Slaughterhouse Five, and anything by Tom Robbins.

I am an artist; I draw, paint, sculpt, and make videos, I am a professional hula hooper and fire dancer, and can teach or share a variety of hula hoop, poi, or acro yoga moves I have also studied energy healing, reiki, sound healing and many different meditative practices and can lead guided meditations.
