CURRENT MISSION My mission is to kill some time and meet some new people, maybe learn a few things along the way. ABOUT ME I've dedicated my life to the pursuit of manipulating technology to my will. I've been programming for about 10 or so years; work as a system admin. I'm a computer engineering major.. I play several instruments, work on cars, and otherwise just kick it. I've been trying become fluent in German. I've got it down to a point where I can read it and speak it, but not really hold a conversation in it. I'll eventually get around to that point, when I work up the motivation to set down my other projects for a minute. I'm looking to join the Army, because I want to have some adventures in my life. Travel to places and do some things most people will never get to do. I'm a former cigarette smoker, though I still occasionally grab a cigar from time to time. When I can afford it, I'll grab one from Uhle's downtown. A decent maduro goes well with a beer and friends. That's about it for now. PHILOSOPHY I'm a total libertarian. I'm on about the same level as Milton Friedman. I also derive some of my personal philosophy from Ayn Rand and Bruce Thornton.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm a newbie. I just signed up, so I haven't really participated as of yet. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Throughout my teenage years, I'd spend the summers living wherever I was welcome. Whether it be at friend's, family, friends of the family, friends of friends.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a devote metalhead. Mostly listening to power metal lately such as Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Edguy, and that sort of deal. Though I still on occasion section off a while and listen to techno, electronica, blues, and some other stuff. I don't watch all that much TV or see too many movies anymore. I get too wrapped up in what I'm working on. Though, when I do watch the tube, usually the history channel, discovery, spike, the news, or adult swim is on. As far as movies go, the last batch of movies I've watched have been mafia movies and scifi movies. When I read, I'm down with the scifi, though I'll read basically anything in front of me. I just finished up reading Don Quixote for about the 3rd time.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I, from start to finish, basically by myself, wired an entire catholic school, setup their DC, setup all of their equipment, as a 16 year old kid, for free. Thousands of feet of cat5e cable, hundred or so ends terminated, hundred or so holes drilled through concrete walls. Probably several tons of equipment moved up several flights of stairs. Hours spent setting up BSD, hours spent securing the network, and even more hours cleaning up. Then the volunteers who were 50 something year old professional system admins and network techs came in expecting to setup all that up only to find it's already been done, and by a 16 year old kid. They didn't take it too well. That was also the only volunteer time I've put in that I can remember.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I've stated before, I've been programming for over 10 years. I also know a fair bit about cars, electronics, network security, plumbing, machining. As far as what I want to learn, I want to learn everything I possibly can in life.
