CURRENT MISSION Cultivate my little corner of the world ABOUT ME We are living in Montreal, with our two year old daughter and our 8 year old dog. Scott is teaching, and commuting, to Toronto and Nicole is studying to teach yoga, as well as working in a wonderful cafe. We don't take advantage of the big city as much as we should, but we do spend a lot of time together as a family, especially in parks; which may be even better. We love cooking, and making interesting things ourselves- baking our own bread, making wine, sometimes cheese. PHILOSOPHY If life gets sloppy, eat it over the sink.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING We joined Couchsurfing back when there were about 50,000 or fewer members and it's amazing to see how it's grown!! Our participation has been limited the past few years; first we were living in a bachelor apartment then we had waaaay too many people in one little house. Next we had a baby, and took some time away from couchsurfing, but we finally have the space and energy to host again! We've met so many wonderful people on CS and look forward to continuing our good luck. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE many couches surfed. many surfers couched.
Music, Movies, and Books
In the past couple of years we've gotten really into classical music, new and old. But we still like to rock out to oldies, and are enjoying the vast landscape of indie music that's changing daily. I know it's cliche to say that we like almost everything, but damn it, we like almost everything. Books: Scott mainly reads art books- interviews with favourite painters etc. I am reading a coupe of yoga theory books, a green building book, a chess book, some raymond carver and a few novels. I keep books tucked away all over the house so whenever I have a minute I can read a page or two.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
This is probably cliche too, but having a baby has sort of eclipsed a lot of the other amazing things I've seen and done. Now I look forward to seeing and doing amazing things with our daughter!

Fermenting! Wine Making! How to Build and Stretch a Canvas! we always love learning new kitchen tricks. Oh, and I would LOVE to learn how to cook indian food!!
