ABOUT ME Grew up in a small town, fishing and playing hockey for sport. Went to India for a year at 17, caught the travel bug among other parasites. Studied international hisotry and politics in Ottawa, went to Russia for language training, backpacked Eastern Europe to Turkey. Worked for 4 years in Kabul and got to travel often as an expat. Took a year off and to hit up Easter Africa and Australia, now back to work in Kabul Jan. PHILOSOPHY If it's going to happen, it's going to happen out there. - Captain Ron

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Regretfully I have a low reply rate because this profile was connected to an old email address - but I changeed that now and should be more regular. I offer advice to travelers where I can - have hosted some characters and enjoyed the hospitality of others. It's a great initiative and community. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE It's just such a brilliant system - we all need travel karma. I have had a number of lovely couples and road trippers stay with me in Canada. I've had a woman from Canada come road trippin' in Afghanistan with me as well as a few others, hosted a Thanksgviing Dinner in Canada for a French couple and drank beerz in BKK with some surfers there. A couple wicket surfers in Djibouti made that country the most unexpectedly awesome place to visit.

My Interests
International politics, hockey, reading, animal husbandry, I love rockin roll, classic country for when I am crusing the back roads in my pickup truck. My favourite colour is orange and I have a collection of maps of all sorts.
