CURRENT MISSION Self-actualization...Sounds a bit big, but I've come up with no better definition... ABOUT ME Sounds a bit like one of the most remarkable movies by Pedro Almodovar - All about my mother...So, all about myself? That's a tough one...Ok, I'll try. Writing about yourself could be far more challenging than having to comment about someone else. So, the information provided below is somewhat subjective. You'll probably have to ask my friends and family members to get the real idea of what I am like:) Anyway, I'll try to keep it short and sweet. I'm an easy-going person-at least this is what I consider myself to be. I am an extrovert, mostly, which means I love socializing, meeting people of all walks of life, cultural and social backgrounds-I thrive on it and value human contact, but I have deep respect for privacy/personal space. Love getting involved in discussions on various issues such as culture, philosophy, history, languages (one of my favorite hobby horses),food, movies (one could easily refer to me as a movie-freak, but I'm not sure this is the best definition). PHILOSOPHY It's real hard to provide an exhausting answer to this complicated question...Why have I come into this world? Why do I live my life? Probably, so I hope - to try to make those around me realize why they live theirs; to try to fill their lives with some meaning (positive, I do hope)and to learn from that experience. I believe in staying true to oneself, without all those false pretensions...Our world is full of them. Nowadays, people are afraid to call a 'spade' a 'spade'. You have to first think of all this pc business, if you know what I mean. Not my thing. My motto is: Respect and be respected in return, but do not cast your pearls before swine. One should be able to distinguish the seeming GOOD from the REAL, TRUE good, for appearances are often deceptive, unfortunately, which is why I believe sometimes you need to be bad to be good. In the long run it often turns out to be so.

Music, Movies, and Books
A favorite movie: (one of them) - Kikujiro, starring Takeshi Kitano. Oh, there are so many great masterpieces, such as: La Vita e bella by Roberto Benini, then some great stuff by Pedro Almodovar (Kika, Habla Con Ella,Volver, etc) and some stunning creations by Julio Medem (Tierra, Los Amantes del Circulo Polar). Love Korean movies, too (Chingu - Friends, Spring, Summer, Autumn and then Spring, By Kim-ki Duk), Georgian and Russian cinema. Some Latvian movies are worth watching, too, such as: Long journey through the dunes...Of those I've recently watched I especially loved "Ip-man" about the great founder of Wingchun style, directed by Wilson Yip...What a stunning acting - courtesy of Donny Yen. A favorite book/writer: Antoin de Saint Exupery - short stories...Reflects very much my philosophy of life or so I'd like to view it. Other books: Detective stories (Finnish detective - highly recommend. Sounds boring?Definitely not!) Music - Flamenco, other Spanish music, Cuban and Caribbean melodies, Jewish (in Ladino), such as those performed by Yasmin Levy. Love French music - Aznavour, J.J. Goldman, Dalida, Joe Dassin (one of my favorite singers of all times. I grew up listening to him) and many others...
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Bungee jumping from an old, rusty tower in S. Korea. It was a bit spooky as the whole structure was swaying in the wind.I managed to do it, but one brave girl jumped BEFORE me and I can't forgive myself for being such a chicken shit...
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach you some basic self-defense techniques. Can teach you some languages. Can teach your how to play the guitar (I'm far from being a guitar genius), but I can teach you some tricks and feel confident about yourself.
My Interests
Movies A bit of martial arts Some cooking - mostly Mediterranean,Jewish & Asian cuisine. Traveling to discover and explore new places and people-not through the coach window, but by getting in touch with real people, experiencing the reality as if you were part of that place. At least it's worth trying and very rewarding in its essence.
