Usman Shakir (Prefer to be called Shakir), Born in Pakistan, Brazilian National, but currently living in Austria and doing Ph.D. at the University of Innsbruck-Austria. I'm a teacher by profession, a Poet, Scriptwriter and a Peaceworker/Peace Researcher. Along with that I am also working on some Multimedia projects like, scripting and concept writing, lyrics writing and other conceptual work. I have done a Masters in English Literature, a Masters in Urdu Literature and an MA degree in Peace, Development, Security and International Conflict Transformation Studies at UNESCO Chair Peace Studies Program, University of Innsbruck. I have worked with International NGOs, Community TV Channel, FM Radio and have written a book of poetry in my native language named "Zawaal Apnay Urooj Par Hay". I'm also working on two other poetry books (one in Urdu and the other in Portuguese), a Novel, a Music Album and a Film about social and racial issues of a discordant couple. It also highlights the genocide of Nama and Herero tribes in Namibia by Imperial German/Nazi Forces from 1904 to 1908. PHILOSOPHY Love (To Love and To be loved) Live (To Live and To Let Live)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm in love with travelling, I travelled a lot and I have plans to explore the world. I made so many friends while travelling and I want to built a trust among other people and travellers. My Couch is always available for loving, caring, trustable, respectful, tolerant and cooperative travellers. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have met with lots of people from CS and that was Awesome....I was introduced to CS by a wonderful friend of mine Mansoor Ali and since then I'm enjoying it. I'm very confident about CS Network. I love the concept and philosophy of CS.

Music: Classical, Ghalazals, Old Songs, Semi-Classical, Melodies, Latino Music and Jazz etc.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Wrote a Book of Poetry in Urdu, Writing two other Books (one in Urdu and one in Portuguese), Wrote a Movie Script and working on a Music Album Fell in love with humanity and holding a safe space for so many Saved and Rescued so many people in a devastating earthquake in 2005 (in Pakistan) Prepared a Dinner for More than 100 people Visited 4 Countries in 4 days Prepared the Wedding Dinner of my Best Friend (While being the Best Man at the same time)
