>During a teaching trip to a remote village in Alaska, I was fortunate enough to be called in from sea bass fishing in a kayak, to participate in the first "munyuk" of seal for the season. The entire process and the final act of sharing the meat with the men of the village was fascinating, horrifying and many other emotions at the same time. >During a work trip, a friend and I came across an installation art piece at night in a field in Colorado of an entire mosque-like building made of printed silk walls of photographs of faces of people living in Iran. Beautiful, striking and impactful.

I have a strong interest in learning, creating and experiencing. Specifically, I like many outdoor sports and activities: ultimate, tele-skiing, ping pong, running, biking, hiking, horse riding, gardening, yoga. I like many indoor activities: playing music, surfing the information highway, taking online classes, listening to new methods of social development, potentiality, writing, creating, the arts. I always enjoy travel, and often it is the connections I experience with others (travelers or natives of the area) that I appreciate most.
