CURRENT MISSION Helping to improve Dutch digital culture ABOUT ME Well, I like adventure. I always think that anything that you can write a book about sometime later in your life is time well spent. It's a good thing to explore the world, try new things. Diversity, that's what it's all about. I guess that's why I'm still not sure what I'm doing. Next to my study I organised a wireless festival for instance, and I do freelance design work. I'm focused on public space and wireless media. It's amazing how mobile phones, for instance, have become such a normal thing so quickly. It raises questions about the quality of our communication. Do we communicate better or worse through all these new digital media? PHILOSOPHY Pooh, that's difficult. I guess I try to stand on my own two feet amongst the tumult of the world, but I don't feel very comfortable going into all that deeply on a webpage :-)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING My apartment has a spare room what I like to lend out to cool geeks. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I haven't done this in an organised form before I think.
Music, Movies, and Books
I devour media. *looks at bookcabinet* I know my way around film noir, videogames. I have books on watching the stars, making sushi, international logos, robots, some shakespeare, Douglas Coupland, William Gibson. And a lot of books about mediaphilosophy.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I've experimented with art in public space in loads of ways, both digitally/wirelessly and using spraypaint that washes away with the rain. I've been a part of an authentic Japanese tea ceremony at the home of some Japanese friends who are in a club that try to keep that culture alive.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about mediaphilosophy (I have actually done that numerous times). If you come over we can go outside and do some chalking. I'm good at fixing bikes.
My Interests
New Media (locative media, ubiquitous computing and other such buzzwords that are about merging computers with our everyday life) I like sailing, I can dance the Lindy Hop (1920's dance, very wild), I play the piano and I love discussions too.
