Hi, I'm a comedian, physicist and I am always drawing. I'm on CS to have fun and meet people from around the world - rather than just other travellers at hostels. I'm a very relaxed guy and I tend to get along with everyone. I love to chat - let's talk about all this in real life! I lived in London for the past few years and just graduated from a postgrad. education course at the University of Cambridge, but I have been travelling whenever I could. In Cambridge, I was affiliated with the Cambridge Footlights, performing stand-up and sketch comedy. I'm a culturally mixed person - I was born in Libya and grew up in Manchester, England. I have learned so much from growing up in two very different environments and I have a very open-minded and curious attitude to everything. I travel to see weird, wonderful or just ordinary things. I'm a big fan of physics and can talk about it endlessly. I also love to cook up odd art projects and I will certainly have my sketchbooks that you can take a look at, which I usually keep as a comic-book diary of my travels. ........NOTE ON ME HOSTING: I currently cannot host people due to living circumstances. When I was in London, I always let anyone sleep on my sofa, from a friend who stayed with me for a month to a couple of foreign people I hosted. I LOVE to host but I never used this website for it before, so it is not recorded on here (but see my references). But I am a big fan of hosting as well as surfing and I always make sure to include guests in my plans and to show them the REAL London. I hope I can host again soon.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
It's one of the best ideas ever - to meet nice people, host/be hosted by locals rather than tourist-made hotels and to share cultures. I am >>>NOT JUST LOOKING FOR A FREE PLACE TO SLEEP<<< - it is *NOT* about money at all but about sharing life and enjoying ourselves. I think it's too easy to get comfortable with your own culture and ideas and forget that there are different ways to live! I think the biggest joys are in sharing what we have in common and in discovering what we do differently, even in the most mundane ways.
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big BIG music fan, used to host a radio show on RARE fm called 'Suck It And See' wherein I played weird and wonderful music to broaden peoples' horizons. Once, I invited a stranger from tinder onto the show and broadcast the first date live on air, which was a great experience. Let's hope our time together is as fun!
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Took an image of an individual atom using quantum tunnelling. I have a long list - invite me and I'll tell you more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak English and Arabic natively and I can practise either language with you, if you want. Or you can laugh at my Manchester accent/ Libyan dialect. I love to draw and keep illustrated travel journals - I will probably try to draw you or both of us. I will supply all the beer you could possibly wish for (if you are a modest wisher). Ask me about my life - I think I have lived quite an unusual life and I have a lot of stories to tell and a lot of people have told me that I tell stories well, although I like to take a long time. I also love talking about physics to people - don't worry, its actually very interesting
What I Can Share With Hosts
FUN!! Of course, I will try to make it a night to remember for you - many stories, interesting chat and plenty of beer will all be provided by me. I will help you with pretty much anything you want, too. I don't know what that will be, but I probably won't say no.
My Interests
I am not couch surfing to do the same hobbies I did at home! Take me to your favourite bar, your yoga class, your punk concert, your walk in the forest... I am interested in what YOU are interested in. I love travelling on a budget - I've been all over the place! Ask me for some of my travel stories; I travelled 5000km over land and sea with no plan through the desert from the Chinese border (Kyrgyzstan) to the Turkish border in Georgia, road tripped on a shitty moped around Vietnam and thailand, learned all about the slovenian squat party scene, camped in the wild for a month, climbed mount fuji, volunteered to teach english, bungee jumped, broke into an abandoned berlin theme park, accidentally smoked opium in a car park with some car park security guards, drank fermented camel milk...
