Hey 👋 Welcome to my profile! If we share the same hobbies, interests, and curiosity about the world, don’t hesitate to send me a message—I’d love to connect! About Me I'm Isa, I'm a passionate traveler and adventurer at heart, always eager to explore new places, embrace diverse cultures, and exchange stories. My journeys are not just about visiting destinations but about experiencing life, learning from others, and sharing insights that inspire meaningful connections. As a Muslim with strong principles, I live in Ghardaïa, Algeria, a historical and conservative city known for its unique architecture, rich heritage, and deep-rooted traditions. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the heart of the M'zab Valley, home to the Ibadi Muslim community, which has preserved its traditions for centuries. The city’s stunning desert landscape, well-preserved ksars (fortified villages), and traditional way of life make it a fascinating place for those who appreciate culture and history. My Story & Travels One of my most exciting challenges was cycling over 550 km across Algeria at the beginning of 2023—a journey that tested my endurance and deepened my love for adventure. I have traveled extensively and experienced diverse cultures: Algeria: Explored 28 out of 58 cities Turkey 🇹🇷: Visited 20+ cities (2016, 2020, 2022) Egypt 🇪🇬: 2017 Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦: 2017 Tunisia 🇹🇳: 2019 Indonesia 🇮🇩: 2024 (Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, Malang, Surabaya, Gili Air, Yogyakarta) Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 2026 Baku , Gebele, Sheki , Lahij, ismayili, shamakhi.... My Passion for Teaching English Teaching English is more than just a profession for me—it's a mission. I strongly believe in the power of education to transform lives. I have four years of teaching experience and hold a CELTA certification along with a Master’s degree in TESOL. My teaching journey has taken me across different countries and environments: Egypt & Turkey (via AIESEC) – Teaching English as a volunteer Tamanrasset, Southern Algeria – Helping students in remote areas access quality education Ghardaïa, Algeria – Founder of Lingua Franca, the first private English school in my region to use interactive teaching methods, including smartboards, games, and modern curricula At Lingua Franca, I focus on effective language learning strategies, ensuring students develop strong communication skills. I also offer free lessons and discounts for underprivileged students, as I believe education should be accessible to everyone. Hobbies & Interests Traveling & Backpacking – Exploring the world with curiosity and an open mind Nature & Adventure – Cycling, hiking, and discovering hidden gems Reading – Always seeking knowledge and new perspectives Judo – A sport that teaches discipline and resilience Teaching English – Using effective methods to help others learn Why I'm on Couchsurfing I'm here to connect with travelers from all over the world, exchange experiences, and build bridges between cultures. I believe that understanding different perspectives makes the world a better place. Respect and meaningful conversations are important to me, and I love learning about the traditions and values of others while sharing my own. If you are visiting Ghardaïa, I’d be happy to introduce you to its rich history, traditional markets, stunning desert scenery, and ancient ksars. It’s a place where time seems to stand still, offering a unique glimpse into Algeria’s heritage. Looking forward to meeting like-minded travelers and creating unforgettable memories!
