CURRENT MISSION Get as many stamps in my passport as possible! ABOUT ME I am currently a student who is on an urban studies based Study Abroad Program. I've spent the last few months trekking around New Orleans, Louisiana, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Cape Town, South Africa, and now Hanoi, Vietnam to better understand the process of urbanization! When I'm not traveling, I study at the College of Wooster, which is a tiny little liberal arts school in rural Ohio. At Wooster I am an Anthropology and Environmental Studies major and use my free time to garden, cook, run, and volunteer at a women's shelter in town. As much as I love the sleepy feel of a rural town, I love the doors that being able to travel opens up for someone. These past few summers I have traveled back to my hometown, Washington D.C., to intern, spend time with my family, and earn money to afford the trip I am currently on! I love to meet new people, and consider myself to be a really friendly, easygoing, and engaging personality. I think that there is nothing better than being able to sit down with someone who you have never met, learn about each other, and draw an intricate web of connections you both have that you never knew existed! PHILOSOPHY I know its a bit cliche to quote Jack Kerouac, but one of my favorite quotes from On The Road is: "What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? - it's the too-huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies." I keep reminding myself to live in the present and take a step back, but sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and see what happens.
