Originally from New York, I now live with my lovely partner in the south of England. I left the States two years ago to pursue a life outside of American culture and it has been everything I've wanted and more. I still don't know exactly the direction my life is going and so I welcome every new experience, new city, and new challenge with open arms. My partner, Mikel, is from the Basque country. He is a security specialist/psychologist/philosopher/James Bond. He loves to meet new people and talk about....well, everything. He has a great sense of humor and is just generally a happy person. He's a cool dude, and I'm not just saying that because we're together. We just want to see the world together! Unfortunately, our home is not currently fit for hosting guests. Sorry :(

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I once lived in this glorious house in SE Portland where the garage was completely outfitted just for couch surfers. I took the room of a girl that fell in love with an Australian couch-surfer and promptly absconded to Sydney. I use this as evidence of the amazing people you can meet sharing a space with someone. Plus, as far as travelling is concerned, accommodation isn't cheap and I'd rather use that money on making friends and buying beer.
Music, Movies, and Books
Musicians: Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, Justice, Boards of Canada, Beyoncé, Outkast, etc. Movies: Dirty Dancing, Pulp Fiction, Pocahontas, Frances Ha Books: The Hobbit, The Old Man and the Sea, Norwegianwood, Cat's Cradle
One Amazing Thing I've Done
White-water kayaking. GUYS IT WAS SO COOL.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach swimming. I want to learn how to cook (better). I can share my killer American sense of humor (please laugh kindly at my jokes even if they're not funny).
What I Can Share With Hosts
I know some really funny Youtube videos. I also know all the words to "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas. I also love to do art and dance, talk, and just generally have a good time.
My Interests
I like to learn and do new things. For me, there is nothing better than starting from scratch (whether it be a place, a skill, or a hobby) and then slowly, but surly becoming proficient in that area.
