Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To my mind it's much more interesting to get aquainted with a country through it's people, so Couchsurfing is a great possibility to get much more good impessions from travelling.

Movies: prefer thrillers and fight films. Music: any kind of. (Rock, folk, jazz, blues, classical etc) Books: prefer literature written by Erich Maria Remarque or W. S. Maugham
